A very sympathetically restored and remodelled Charentaise property. Off-street parking for two large cars. A few steps up to side door (which is effectively the main entrance) brings you to the lounge/diner. To be honest, it was much larger than I had anticipated and was extremely comfortable for four adults. There were some very nice touches like games (which we enjoyed), books (but we'd brought our own), a DVD player and DVDs (which we didn't bother with) and a flat-screen TV. An unexpected bonus was UK satellite TV. The only disappointment on the entertainment front was the lack of wi-fi. Bedrooms were small (as expected) but perfectly acceptable (4 adults). There are a few steps down to a large-ish kitchen. Ample cupboard and work surface space, full-size fan oven and hob (electric). The fridge-freezer was enormous! Outside was particularly well thought out. A larger than expected pool and plenty of patio space, table and 4 chairs, BBQ, washing lines, potted plants. The pool proved particularly welcome, as we were there for a fortnight during the June 2019 Heatwave in France. We peaked at 38 degrees and high humidity. Sun loungers with cushions were also provided, along with a couple of parasols, which were also particularly welcome! Overall, an excellent property, conveniently located for all that Charente-Maritime has to offer.
