The Windmill Suffolk is an adults only holiday let and due to the layout with its sweeping staircase unfortunately The Windmill is not suitable for those with limited mobility. It is a non-smoking property throughout and not suitable for pets.

Fantastic luxury property. Great attention to detail. Natalie (owner) was very friendly and helpful. Highlight was sitting on the top floor overlooking the wonderful scenery with a drink in hand. Would definitely return and recommend to others.

Stunning in every way…
We have had the most incredible two night stay at the Windmill Suffolk. We received a very warm welcome from Natalie, she took us all round the Windmill explaining how everything worked and to let us know she was on hand if we had any questions.
The attention to detail and the comfort is amazing, it was such a treat to stay in such beautiful unique building. It is true luxury.
The views over the Suffolk countryside from the top is stunning, sitting on the balcony watching a fox in the meadow while sipping our drinks - what a pleasure, likewise watching the sunrise in the mornings too.
The windmill is close to Lavenham which is well worth a visit, full of charm. Also Historic Bury St Edmund’s.

What's not to like? We already want to book again!!
I have already sent pictures and links to friends with high level recommendations!! Everything is of the highest quality, including Natalie, who is the perfect hostess. She has thought of everything and nothing was too much trouble. I used to be an events' organiser, so have been fortunate to have experienced some very classy venues . . . and The Windmill definitely ranks up there!! If you are thinking of treating yourself, you will not be disappointed. We only ventured out on one evening (thanks to Natalie for recommending Scutchers - delicious food) as it was so idyllic to sit on the balcony and enjoy the tranquility. You don't even have to go back to the kitchen to top up your glass, as there's a fridge in the lounge. Blissed out on 4 nights of deep sleep as bed is soooooo comfy. Totally indulged in relaxing soak in 'pool-size' bath. Slathered myself daily in Elemis products. The cake and coffee treat created the perfect welcome moment. Sat in total silence amongst the amazing views. We already want to come back. Just one more thing to say to anyone reading this . . . book now!

A-maxing…
OMG…. I don’t normally write reviews but just felt I had to .
I booked the windmill for my dear mums birthday as she has always wanted to live in a windmill ,and boy it didn’t disappoint .
From the moment we arrived to the day we left ,and we were there for 4 nights , we had the best time , it truly was amazing we had everything we needed Natalie the owner had thought of everything , from our welcome hamper to pillow mist for a wonderful sleep , don’t even get me started on the pillows and mattresses they were Fab-u-lous the best night sleep I’ve had for ages as I have a bad back .
I could go on and say so much more but to be honest I wouldn’t want to spoil the experience for anybody all I can say is you won’t be disappointed.
We arrived as strangers and left as life long friends xxxx

An incredible place to make lifelong memories
I was surprised with a stay at The Windmill for my 30th birthday and it was beyond all of our wildest dreams. Natalie and Steve are amazing hosts and go above and beyond to ensure that your stay is everything you could hope for. Everything has been thought of, down to even the tiniest of details.

Fab-u-lous
My husband and I spent a fantastic weekend at The Windmill. We arrived and was greeted by Natalie, a lovely, friendly lady that took time to take us through all elements of the Windmill, air con, TV etc.
A beautiful property which has been restored to the highest standard using quality fixtures and fittings. Everything has been thought of, there is not one thing I can think of that wasn’t available. The bed was extremely comfortable with high quality pillows and linen. The bathroom was huge with an enormous bath, quality towels and toiletries and the use of fluffy bath robes and slippers. The pod/lounge at the top provided amazing views of the surrounding Suffolk countryside. The balcony enabled you to sit outside and drink in the piece and quiet of the area providing the most relaxing atmosphere.
This is an amazing place, I cannot recommend it enough and cannot wait to return myself.

Peace and relaxation
We were looking for peace and relaxation and we found it here for sure.
From the great communication beforehand to the warm welcome when we arrived nothing could have been better.
The Windmill is breathtaking and luxurious inside with views a plenty.
We would highly recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing break

Simply AMAZING
Wowwww…what a place. We had the most tremendous stay in the windmill. It was so restful and relaxing. And surrounded by the most beautiful views.
The windmill itself is absolutely stunning. The decore is 5* and the attention to detail really was fantastic. This windmill is clearly loved by its owners Steve & Natalie and that reflects in the windmill and all the lovely little touches that you find when you stay there.
This property is outstanding and it really is a must for anyone looking for some R&R or something special. We cant wait to return,

Mini-moon perfection!!
Wow what a place!! We spent the first two nights after our wedding here (on a 'mini-moon', if you will!) and it couldn't have been more perfect. AND the wonderful owners had added various surprise gifts and decorations for us which was so thoughtful and lovely! The views from the top are just stunning, but being able to enjoy those views in such luxurious comfort is what really does it! The place is flawless and so classily finished - can't wait to go back there for future anniversaries! 😊

Beautiful Windmill in the Suffolk countryside
We spent three nights at the Windmill for my wife’s birthday.
The location and views from the windmill were perfect, the interior is finished to a high quality and has everything you require for a great stay.
Natalie the owner met us on our arrival and took us through each level and explained all the details we needed to know.
I would thoroughly recommend a stay at this beautiful special place.

With plenty of country walks and local attractions, including a variety of National Trust properties within a 10 minute drive you have your pick of things to do during your stay with us.
Nestled in Suffolk’s beautiful countryside, The Windmill Suffolk,, is located just 2 miles from Historic Tudor Lavenham. We are less than 10 minutes drive from gorgeous Georgian Bury St Edmunds and its famous Abbey and gardens.
Newmarket races are 20 minutes away and Cambridge for obligatory punting on the river Cam and visiting the plethora of universities is 45 minutes drive away.
Getting around
The Windmill Suffolk is on a bus route but as we are in the countryside buses do not regularly especially in the evening, so it is beneficial to visit us by car.
This also means you will find it far easier to visit all the wonderful surrounding towns and villages within easy distance of The Windmill.
