Fancy sipping a drink on a roof terrace while you take in the stunning views of Lough Derg just metres away? We can do that for you. From the minute you walk into One Little Cottage, you know you’re somewhere special. We have lovingly restored this cosy townhouse on the banks of the canal and (not literally!) turned it upside down to make the most of the fantastic views of the River Shannon flowing right outside the window. The ground floor has two double bedrooms which fill with super morning light. Bedroom one has fabulous wardrobe space where we’ve packed away a hairdryer, iron and ironing board, so help yourself. There’s also a spacious and beautifully styled shower and bathroom on the ground floor and tucked under the stairs, ready to freshen up your clothes, it is a washing machine and drier. But up the stairs is where it gets really interesting… you walk straight into an open plan living area with two comfy leather sofas to curl up on, and one pulls out to make up an additional bed. Around the corner is the quirky and colourful kitchen which gives you a perfect view of the river so you don’t have to miss out while you’re cooking. Bedroom three is just off the main room and is set up a sofa bed and ensuite shower. And to top it all off, you’ve got the fabulous little gem that is the roof garden. We’ve put a lot of effort into One Little Cottage’s modern, comfortable style and we hope you love it as much as we do. It is the perfect spot for a nice, easy getaway for families or groups; and the ideal distance to the village for weddings and parties, with plenty of activities to keep adults and kids occupied. We stayed in this home and fell in love with it. It has an amazing location close to shops and cafes, and the roof top garden looks out on the lake. The quirk design appealed and we loved our stay in this house. Its clean,...More

About the neighbourhood
The twin towns of Killaloe/Ballina are amongst Ireland's most picturesque attractions and are linked by a 13 arch bridge, which links not only the two towns, but also the counties of Clare and Tipperary. The twin towns of Killaloe and Ballina span the River Shannon at the southern point of Lough Derg. With a vast array of activities on land and water, historic sites and a bustling nightlife, Killaloe has long been Ireland's secret vacation destination delighting all the family. Killaloe, on the Clare side of the river, is made up of charming narrow streets, flanked by old shops along the steep hill looking down over the 13th century cathedral. The town was home to Brian Boru, the High King who united Ireland against the Vikings, so this p
