About the neighbourhood
There is a pub and a restaurant in the village - just over a mile away - and several pubs and places to eat in Alston. Alston is reputedly the highest market town in the country and has a cobbled main street, several speciality shops, a Spar, a Co-op, pharmacy, butcher, baker, post office and two filling stations. Nenthead has the Mines Heritage Centre and Alston is home to the South Tyne Railway and the Hub Heritage Transport Museum. Sunrise is set in superb walking country and bike hire is available in Nenthead. Hadrians Wall and several Roman forts are all within easy distance.
How to get there
From Alston take the road to Nenthead and turn left after Nent Hall. Follow the road for about a mile, past Greenends and Rock House and we are the next house after the field. Park outside Sunrise and come to Valley View for the key.
