'An Tigin' simply means 'The little house' in Gaelic. An Tigin is an idyllic cottage dating back to the 1700's with walls almost 3 feet thick and nestled amongst it's own little woodland setting. This cottage offers extreme comfort and cosines. The cottage has two bedrooms upstairs with two single beds in one and a 6ft bed with super comfy memory foam matress in the second. The master room is equipped with a TV and DVD player. There is great Wi-Fi in the house also. All bed linen is hotel quality 100% cotton & duvets are 'spundown' anti allergy, very light but toasty warm! A seperate utility room is off the kitchen with freezer and microwave oven, Washing Machine, tumble dryer, Iron etc. There is a lovely and well appointed family bathroom with a bath and a separate power shower. If you have small children or a baby, we have a travel cot and bed guard to prevent any smallies from falling out of bed. A stair gate for the top of the stairs & a door at the bottom making it very safe for kids. Also, we have a high chair. The cottage has oil fired central heating and also a beautiful wood burning stove in the kitchen which gives incredible heat on the coldest of winter nights. Oustide is a beautiful walled patio area surrounded by flowers & fresh herbs. It is a sun trap and there is a table & chairs & parasol for you to enjoy a BBQ in the summer. This cottage will not suit people who do not like dogs as we have two very friendly springer spaniels who love children and may occasionally pop over to say hello. They will not be a nuisance as long as you are not giving them tasty treats! The property is fully equipped with all you would need for a romantic break, family holiday, sailing or golfing trip.

Marvelous place, neat and tidy, every convenience you’d want. Bonus if you love dogs and cats, and the local guard rooster down the road. Really excellent place with easy access to Kinsale and Cork. Definitely planning return trip.

Beautiful little cottage in a fabulous location!
This beautiful little cottage & our host, Judy, warmly welcomed us to stay in Kinsale. The location is just fabulous, so close to many beaches & the town itself just minutes away. We had a fabulous time & enjoyed many BBQs on the patio surrounded by the beautiful gardens. We'll be back!!

Excellent Customer Service!
We were booked to stay at "An Tigin" for a few days in May 2020. Unfortunately we had to postpone our trip, due to the first Covid lockdown and re-booked for May 2021. One year later and we have yet again had to change our plans due to Covid! Throughout this painful process, Judy H could not have been more friendly, helpful and accommodating. It's such a shame that we'll not be seeing her on this occasion, as I have no doubt that she would be the perfect host!

Thank you for your lovely review, Neil. It's a shame you couldn't make it over yet but hopefully, by the end of this summer, we will be back to some form of normality. Take care of yourselves.

Excellent hideaway
We had a fabulous trip to Oyster Haven and stay in An Iigín. Judy was a smiley, happy and helpful host. Almost as helpful as Luke and Rosie ☺️. I highly recommend an tigín if looking for an escape into the country and a peaceful place to relax.

Amazingly cosy cottage.
Had a lovely time here. The house is beautifully laid out, with great taste and quality touches throughout. The garden is a little spiritual haven. A fab place to stay all year round. Location is also fantastic, right beside water and short trip to lots of local spots. Judy herself is a really friendly host, very down to earth with a well written guide book for tips of what to do in the area. Her two dogs helped keep our two little girls entertained to no end.

A special little cottage in a special piece of Cork.
"An Tigin" is a special little cottage in a special piece of Cork. We spent 7 lovely days exploring around Kinsale and the local areas. Each day we returned to the wonderful peace and quite at the cottage. We had a 13 year old and a 9 year old. Evenings were spent with quality family time reading, or watching a funny family Netflix films. The cottage is cosy, very quaint and comfortable for the 4 of us. Judy was a brilliant host and gave us local advice on what to see and do. Around the corner there is the Oysterhaven water activity centre. But this cottage suits a family who want to use it as a base to explore during the day, and relax and plan at night for more adventures. Thanks again Judy. (We miss the friendly Puss Puss and Rosie the dog already ;-). 5 stars from us. 👏👏
