Three cays(islands) situated between our beach and the Atlantic Ocean stop large waves and provide us with a gently sloping, sandy beach free of currents and undertows. The calm water and long beach make this a classic. Lochabar 'Blue Hole' is a short walk away. This is a perfect place for a peaceful, secluded, sunny and quiet getaway, yet only 3-4 minutes from bars & restaurants. Our house features 3 full size bedrooms each with it's own ensuite private bathroom and queen size bed. Whole house A/C, and 13 ceiling fans. A Large covered and screened entrance Lanai porch with ceiling fan, GAS GRILLE, table and chairs. Perfect for outdoor dining or relaxing in the shade. Great for the infrequent rainy days! Large 13' X 20' deck facing the ocean, extending out above the tree tops, ideal for sunbathing. The ocean-side top floor balcony with access from two bedrooms is a relaxing spot to enjoy sea breezes and the never ending view. Fully equipped kitchen and Laundry room with CLOTHES WASHER and DRYER. We are one mile southeast of Clarence Town and a twenty minute drive from Deadman's Cay Airport(airport code LGI). Clarence Town has restaurants, gas station, shopping, health clinic, Rowdy Boys Restaurant and the new bigger and better Flying Fish Marina and Outer Edge Grille. ACTIVITIES: swimming, snorkeling, beach-combing/shelling, fishing, diving , kayaking, hiking, exploring the island, sightseeing--checking out plantation ruins,caves and the 663'deep Dean's Blue Hole, Long Island Museum, or just relaxing in the sun. In the evening watch the full moon rise above the ocean. On the darkest night, lay on the deck & look up to see millions of stars as you have never seen them before. The possibilities are endless--you'll need more time. AMENITIES: Linen, house and beach towels included. Area: Clarence Town, the capital of Long Island and the principle harbor on the east coast of Long Island, is one of the prettiest settlements in the Bahamas and has 2 twin-spired churches with a most interesting history as they were both designed and built by the late Father Jerome, an architect and religious figure well known throughout the Bahamas. You can visit both churches and it is possible to climb the narrow passage up into the towers of Sts Peter and Paul Catholic Church for a spectacular view of Clarence Town, the harbor and dock, Atlantic Ocean, and the Lochabar Beach area and cays. How to get there
Flying from Newark, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Washington D. C. etc. fly direct to Nassau, Bahamas (NAS) in time for the afternoon flight on Southern Air Charter or Bahamas Air flight to Deadmans Cay Airport, (LGI) Long Island ,Bahamas . Our caretaker will pick you up at the airport and have you at the house in time for a afternoon walk on the beach. In winter time you can walk in the snow in the morning and walk in the sand in the afternoon.
