Bagenal Harvey Cottage

Overview
Cottage -
3 Bedrooms , 3 Bathrooms , Sleeps 7
Tomhaggard, County Wexford
Set in the heritage precincts of a well-preserved tower house/castle from the 1500s, Bagenal Harvey Cottage is one of two cottages in a long early cow-house, recently and lovingly renovated with great skill. Oak beams and floors, period furniture and comfortable chairs help to keep the special character of the cottage, and there is a traditional open fireplace. Nature flourishes at Butlerstown, and the front door of the cottage opens on to a lavender garden, which is for private use by the guests of both cottages, with a herb garden at the back of the cottage. The main garden, partly walled, is full of flowers, vegetables and an orchard, and has an 'enchanted beech walk' planted by Anna's great, great Aunt in the 19th century.
There are pets to feed, local beaches, restaurants, pubs, golf courses, riding, sea fishing and tri...

Interaction with guests
There is internet connection on the place, but not in the cottages themselves. Parents have often told me it is the first real holiday they have had with their kids as they are not glued to a screen! We live close by and so can be available for queries or help needed. There is a booklet which will give you a lot of details of local activities, restaurants, and beaches etc.

Additional amenities & feature info
The spacious sitting room is perhaps the most remarkable of the rooms in Bagenal Harvey Cottage, with its oak floors, ceiling with wooden beams, leaded lights, open log fire, and traditional yet comfortable furniture. It is ideal for both larger and smaller groups - being large enough to house a large family, and yet cosy enough to enjoy by the fire.

Some guests have used it to play music in, paint, or just watch videos and relax. The kitchen- come-dining room has all the necessary kitchen accessories for cooking, but also keeps the traditional feel with a small Irish dresser and oval table to sit at. The bedrooms are very comfortable, and again lovingly furnished to suit the building.
