Or listening to the shouts coming from the five aside football tournament as the locals spur on their favourite cousins, nieces and nephews. Shop amongst the locals on market day, the town vibrant with life, colour and the smells of the freshest produce or watch as the local people prepare the food with the utmost of tradition in their local shops, presenting it to you as if it were the most exquisite present. Villa Sabatini sits in the valley 1.5 km from Atina's centre. The citizens of Atina are known as Atinate, and they speak a traditional dialect called Atinese. Atina is located approximately 40 miles south-east of the town of Frosinone, between Cassino and Sora, and it is one of the 91 communities that make up the Province of Frosinone. It is positioned roughly half way between Rome and Naples (155 km from the centre of Rome and 118 from Naples). The small, mountain town of Atina is perched on a hillside, at an altitude of 490 metres. The old part of the town is known as the Centro Storico. From here there are spectacular panoramic views of the Val di Comino. In the valley is the newer community of Atina Inferiore.
