Le Martinet is one of 3 Gites at La Richardiere which is set on a wide hilltop with extensive views over the glorious, rolling countryside so typical of this area. The wide lawns and mature trees make this both a family friendly and yet delightfully romantic location. Our lovely property can offer you: - A large secluded swimming pool in a pretty lawned garden with sun loungers and parasols. - Plenty of space to seek peace and tranquillity or have fun and games with friends and family. - Garden tables, chairs and barbecue for al fresco dining. - Shaded parking for cars. - Cots and high chairs can be supplied upon request. As well as the pool we have a Boule court (piste), table tennis, badminton, croquet and a selection of bicycles for your use. The lounge, which is accessed via a large French window/door that overlooks the courtyard, is comfortably furnished and includes a TV with English and French channels. The kitchen/diner leads off the lounge and seats up to six people. Kitchen equipment includes a gas cooker, fridge, dishwasher and microwave. The ground floor twin bedroom with en-suite shower room (including toilet and wash-basin) is also accessed from the lounge. This is a spacious bedroom that could accommodate an additional folding bed for a child. The wooden staircase in the lounge leads straight up into the second bedroom which features a comfortable king size bed, its own en-suite shower room (including toilet and wash-basin), and views towards the courtyard. Outside, to the rear, there is a gravelled patio with a charcoal BBQ and table and chairs for up to 6 people for outside dining. Washing machines and drying lines are available on site. We have 3 Gites here at Gites de La Richardiere and together they can sleep 11 people which is great for families. Why not contact us and ask about our exclusive package. Interaction with guests
We live on-site at La Richardière and so we can be on hand to organise Wine-Tastings, and advise about places to visit and things to do. On the other hand, we can blend in and be inconspicuous if guests prefer. We're always ready to listen to your needs and thoughts.

About the neighbourhood
La Richardiere is well-placed for visitors wishing to soak up the beauty and heritage of the Loire region. As well as numerous pretty villages within a few minutes drive of our location, we also have many historic towns within easy reach. Loches is a pretty, vibrant town just 25 minutes from La Richardière. The Logis Royal, which dates back to the Renaissance, overlooks the town from its hilltop position and is well worth a visit. On Wednesday mornings the historic town centre is filled by one of the loveliest markets in the Touraine. Also, close at hand, is the town of Descartes. Birthplace of the famous philosopher and mathematician Rene Descartes. There is a museum dedicated to him in the very house in which he was born. For outdoor ac
Getting around
We are in the 'middle of nowhere' yet in the middle of everything. The Loire is just one hour to the north giving access to all those lovely Chateaux, and there are plenty of small, historic towns within easy reach 20-30 mins. Locally, there is a market almost every day and many attractions for families and individuals. The roads are quiet, so driving, cycling or walking are all a great pleasure. There is a Bus service which runs from Grand Pressigny to Tours.
