It was as lovely to return to Villa Maielleta, we had almost forgotten how quiet and relaxing it was. A wonderfully warm welcome from Stephen on our arrival set the tone for the rest of the week. The accommodation is very comfortable and the bedroom lavish. The scenery from the apartment is quite breathtaking, there are numerous short walks available...

Casa Maieletta is simply stunning, from the Venetian bedroom furniture to the bed linen, the fluffy towels and the lovely Chesterfield sofa in the living room, there isn't anything that Kate and Stephen haven't thought of to make this a special experience. About the neighbourhood
We look up to the majestic Martellese Mountain; at 2,252 metre high it is one of the highest in the Maiella range. The amazing Grotta (cave) del Cavallone, reached by cable car and complete with stalactites, is close by. Lanciano, 25 km away, is sedate, relaxing and brimming with examples of great architecture, like the Basilica of Santa Maria del Ponte, which houses an 8th century statue of the Madonna. During the festival season in August artistic and cultural events are a nightly attraction in surrounding villages, with traditional music, an opportunity to learn traditional dances and try all kinds of local food . “Festa” time for us includes the Sant'Antonio festa 2 minutes walk away and the beer festival, a great family night out.
