My home is a real Swiss Chalet made entirely of wood and with little red shutters. It is two storeys and has a terrace and upstairs balconies. It is cosy in the winter and cool in the summer. Situated very close to all the that the village has to offer, this is a wonderful place to spend a holiday. The house is on the cross country ski run and also very close to the riding school. The tennis courts and lower sporting centre are around 50 metres away and the ski lift and cable car is around 250 metres away. The nearest restaurant is 100 metres away. There is a variety of good restaurants in Leysin. Leysin is made for active people. There is a via ferrata, bike trails, ski runs, hiking trails, climbing possibilities. Interaction with guests
I will be available at all times during your stay as I live in the property. I have a wealth of knowledge of the region and can advise you on where to go, where to eat and what to do. The kitchen is available to you to cook and the living room and dining room area also at your disposal. I make breakfast at an extra charge if you want it and also make fondues and raclettes during the winter. A barbecue is outside which can be used in the summer. I put it away in winter as the terrace becomes snowbound. If you want to talk to me I am here, if you don't I don't mind.

About the neighbourhood
Leysin is mountainous and has many hiking paths, bike routes, ski pistes etc. This year the ski resort is being extended. It is a beautiful area - almost untouched and has amazing views of Mont Blanc and, from Prafandaz, Lake Geneva. The village is small with quite a few restaurants and sports faciilties. In winter there is a toboggan run and luge, you can go for a helicopter ride, parapente, horse-riding - in fact there is so much to do you are spoilt for choice. The restaurants are good and diverse from traditional Swiss to French and Chinese.
Getting around
Going by train is the most convenient method of getting down to the lake area. The funicular runs every half an hour. The only inconvenience is that the last train leaves Aigle at 10 in the evening. In the village there is a free navette which passes directly in front of the . house. The busstop is around 25 metres away and is very convenient for the ski lifts. If you want to go further afield, a car is definitely a benefit. Some places are not on direct trainlines and take a long time to reach.
