Overview
Watermill -
3 Bedrooms , 2 Bathrooms , Sleeps 5
Badia Tedalda, Province of Arezzo, Tuscany
Il Mulino stands solid and comfortable, perched on a rock where the sound of the river flowing beneath your windows will lull you to sleep at night. The Mill was fully modernised in 2000 but many original features have been retained: cotto and wooden floors, beams and even a breakfast table on the terrace constructed from mill-stones. The Mill sleeps 5/6 guests and there are two bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen and lounge with log-burner.

The countryside is beautiful and ideal for walkers, nature-lovers and those who want to sample 'real' Italy. Honey buzzards, wild boar, porcupines, egrets and dippers on the river are just a few sightings listed by past guests. The river is perfect for refreshing dips.

Badia Tedalda, with its 16th century church with Della Robbia altarpieces, is 5 minutes away, with restaurants and food...

We had a fantastic time staying at the Mill. It’s beautiful and peaceful surroundings but a great location to visit nearby places and some amazing authentic restaurants a short walk away The mill has everything we wanted and you feel like you have really escaped...More

Thanks for your lovely review. We noticed you went running most days - maybe to combat the delicious food? Yes, we really are in the heart of Tuscany and even Italian friends recognise the Upper Valmarecchia is an unspoiled, somewhat forgotten corner of this beautiful...More

So pleased you had a restful stay. It was great to hear all the laughter from young people drifting from il Mulino. It seems to appeal to all ages! The two restaurants you mention are L'Erbhosteria up in Rofelle and Il Casalone, within walking distance....More

The Mill is set in the hills, amid forests and with the river running right past. Incredibly peaceful and tranquil, it is a place where you can spend a day or days without going anywhere or a place to return to with a smile after...More

Thank you Peter for your wonderful review and for explaining to others the area we live in. Not the heart of Tuscany but nevertheless very beautiful and more peaceful.

Additional amenities & feature info
- thick, stone walls ensure the mill is cool in the summer and cosy on cooler nights.- the watermill is centuries old and we have retained as many original features as possible whilst providing modern comforts.- stunning location which all our guests fall in love with.
- please note that, because we are in a deep river valley, we have had to install satellite internet with the consequence of very limited download capacity. Internet is therefore available only for checking emails or similar light usage. Better connections are available nearby.

About the neighbourhood
The nearest small town is Badia Tedalda at 5km with 2 grocers, a butchers, a bank ,post office, bars and restaurants plus a tourist office.

There is also a very good restaurant within walking distance of Il Mulino. It is difficult to convey in words how relaxing il Mulino is and although there are places of interest within easy access, most of our guests have been quite content to let the place work its magic and stay put. They have told us they welcome the opportunity to 'catch up' with family, read, paint, bird-watch, walk, safely bathe in the river and, above all, for their children to be children again.

In June, July and August there are plenty of 'feste' in the villages, with dancing in the squares and food stalls where you can sample local specialities and wine....
