You'll find the apartment in the heart of Todi, an Umbrian hilltown famous for its picturesque winding streets and breathtaking views. It has been recommended by Lonely Planet's Tuscany/Umbria edition, and it is easy to see why. This is a place where you feel instantly at home, because the apartment belongs to an Italian, not a foreigner using it as an investment. It has been in the family for generations and the owner has personally seen to its decoration. The result is an eclectic and harmonious combination of cherished family heirlooms and stylish contemporary pieces. At La Gardenia, you'll be welcomed as a traveller -- even a member of the family -- and never an anonymous tourist.
The apartment is situated on the upper two floors of a traditional stone-built house dating from the Mi...

Apartment with a fabulous view from the terrace
My husband and I rented Carlo's apartment for two and a half weeks and we couldn't have been happier. Todi is a charming town with a number of good dining options. It's also a perfect location for visiting numerous other hill towns in Umbria.
The apartment has two levels; the bedrooms downstairs and kitchen and dining room upstairs. All the rooms are well equip and tastefully decorated. Carlo is a professional photography and his good taste shows. He was attentive and very helpful to give us an orientation to town and deal with the inevitable bumps that occur along the road. The only challenge we encountered was some road noise at night since the master bedroom sits above the one road winding through town. Closing the windows helped address that problem.
Between the steps in the apartment and the hills heading into town, we hoped for "buns of steel" but the delicious galati got in the way. Nevertheless, we highly recommend Carlo's apartment to anyone looking for the perfect Umbrian experience.

Beautiful apartment with amazing views
If you are looking at the description of this apartment and wondering if it can possibly be as wonderful as it appears, the answer is a definite YES. This was a perfect home base for our week in Umbria in early May. Todi is one of the loveliest towns we visited in Umbria. The location of the apartment, an easy walk from public parking, was so convenient. The layout and decor of the apartment, on two floors, is delightful, with a light and airy feeling. Carlo has carefully provided everything to make staying here a pleasure. The bed is comfortable, the kitchen is charming, and I cannot even begin to adequately describe the amazing views from every room and especially from the balcony/terrace off the dining room. Coming "home" to this apartment each day was such a treat. Carlo was a perfect host. He handled arrival and departure seamlessly, at our convenience, welcomed us warmly and gave us a personal and information-packed introduction to the beautiful town of Todi. We hope to return in the future, and we would definitely stay here any time we're traveling in the area. Grazie mille, Carlo!

Exceeded expectations with stunning views and caring host
My husband and I stayed 4 nights as a quiet country break in the middle of our 3 weeks in Italy. It was so perfect for us. We cooked our own pasta dinner on 2 nights in the quaint little kitchen and ate out on the balcony. Our wine and ingredients all bought just up our street. There are plenty of other choices though, cheap cafe to high end restaurants.
If you don’t mind walking a few sheep streets, this villa and town of Todi is a must see. Carlo has excellent English which was so helpful for us.

Charming house, charming owner
A lovely home from home in a medieval building within the ancient walls of this lovely little hill-top town. Comfortable and peaceful bedrooms adjoin a bathroom, while the kitchen, dining and sitting rooms are at the top of the 3 storey house with views over the surrounding countryside. Restaurants and a supermarket are within 5 minutes walk (bit longer coming back uphill from the shop) as are tke key sights of Todi.
Carlo is a great host, keen to provide ideas for days out - tailoring that to length and type of your holiday - as well as places to eat and shops to use. He is also very keen to ensure that you have all you need for a great stay and he has excellent English - even if he regards his language skills as basic. Modest chap!

Perfect Spot :-)
Just home from Carlo's apartment in Todi. The apartment is in an absolutely charming and friendly town in Umbria. The apartment is inside the old City wall a short distance from theCentral square . It is a beautiful apartment with lovely decor but the wow factor are the views...especially from the balcony. To top it off Carlo is a super host who gave us great recommendations for restraints and days out. We would highly recommend the apartment and the town of Todi for your trip to Umbria 😀

Elegant and spacious townhouse in Todi
This beautiful townhouse is in a very old building on a quiet street in Todi, which is a perfect base for exploring Umbria. Carlo has renovated and decorated the apartment impeccably. It has much more space than we expected: two bedrooms, a formal salon with historical furniture, and a bathroom on one level, and a modern living room, dining room, large kitchen, half bath, and balcony on another level. The balcony does indeed have breathtaking views of church bells, rooftops, and the countryside beneath Todi. The main bed has a new and very comfortable mattress. The kitchen is well appointed, including a washing machine, and can accommodate full meals. The best feature is Carlo, who is enthusiastic, welcoming, and a gold mine of suggestions, maps, and guides. Highly recommended.

Fantastic!
We absolutely loved staying in Carlo's apartment in Todi. The view is unbelievable (almost every window has an incredible view). We spent a lot of time on the balcony relaxing at the end of each day. Carlo is a perfect host. He really goes out of his way to make sure you are happy and comfortable in his home. When we booked the apartment, we thought that it might be too big since it is just for two of us. We never regretted our decision. It was such a treat to have some extra room to relax in. The location is perfect. We visited several of the medieval hill top towns in the region during our five night stay and we agreed that Todi is our favorite. So charming and a central location to so much to see and do in the area. We walked everywhere in Todi. There was no need for us to use our car once we returned from our many day trips. The highlight of our trip was a cooking class with La Lingua La Vita school. If you are looking for an authentic experience with an Italian family, we highly recommend doing this.

Peaceful, perfectly situated Todi accommodations
My husband and I stayed at this wonderfully appointed townhouse with friends and it suited us perfectly. It was conveniently located within the historic city center, close enough to walk to everything Todi has to offer but also a short, easy walk from free perimeter parking.
It is beautifully decorated with art and antiques and has a well-equipped kitchen.
The little balcony off the dining room is a lovely place to sip coffee in the morning or enjoy a glass of wine while taking in the sunset.
Carlo is a knowledgeable, warm and gracious host.
You can't go wrong with the rental.

Perfect base for exploring Umbria
My husband and I have stayed in Italy in numerous places over the last fifteen years and Carlo's place is the best place we have ever stayed in! Unlike most places within a town it is exceptionally private and filled with light. There are beautiful views from every window and the place is spotlessly clean. Beautiful art covers the walls and the bookcase is filled with guidebooks and novels. Carlo has lost of great suggestions for half day and full day trips which we made use of. Todi is a great base for getting around Umbria as it is quite central. It feels like a real town with real people living in unlike some of the Umbrian towns which feel like they are only still in existence due to the tourists flocking in.
One word of advice - plan out your days at the start and check opening times of things you want to see. We missed a couple of things that were closed on our last day as we hadn't done our research. We'll just have to come back again!

Stunning in every way! Views to die for.
Absolutely beautiful characterful apartment in the old streets of Todi with incredible panoramic views from the terrace above the rooftops, in among the swooping swifts.
Carlo is an amazing host, so helpful and knowledgeable and a native of Todi. We cannot recommend this apartment highly enough. What a find. You must stay here if you are visiting Todi. Beautiful spacious interior, with original furnishings, but the views!!
