Amazing terrace and view in a tranquil hill location
The house itself consists of the main house, 2 bedrooms and a kitchen/lounge with the huge amazing terrace and a separate one room apartment with its own entrance, accessible by a flight of stairs from the terrace.
The apartment is a family home and while being kept in good condition has few things that could do with an update, considering the price range. That said, everything is fully functional (just not very modern). We were traveling with kids and this house was perfect for us. It has plenty of space to play and very few chances of hurting yourself. The terrace has plenty of comfy spots and lounge chairs, and is partly shaded by a bamboo roof making it an excellent place to spend your time, no matter what time of day. The kitchen made it easy to fix lunch and the BBQ served us well at night.
As seems to be the case wherever we go in Italy, the beds were very hard - a mattress on a flat wood surface. Plenty of towels were provided.
The house is half way up a hill on the outskirts of the Ponza Porto. This means that the view is breathtaking. It also means that you will be climbing quite a few steps to and from the house each day. If you are used to walking a lot, then this will pose no problem what so ever. The roads you will be taking have no traffic and are well maintained pedestrian streets. Compared to what you get on the Amalfi coast it's not such a steep climb, but note that all the shops and all the restaurants but one are a 10-15 min walk down the hill in Ponza Porto. The main road passes above the house (minimum traffic, you won't notice) so taking a taxi home from a night dining out is no problem at all.
Sabina was a great hostess who speaks excellent English and made sure to check in on us by phone before arrival and several times during our stay, as were Rosa and her husband who meet us at the property and help sort out any problems we had.
We had a great week in this house and would not hesitate to return!

mare e relax - una settimana perfetta
ho preso in affitto questa casa con 5 amici, conoscevo già Ponza, ci torno tutti gli anni e ogni volta me ne innamoro. Finalmente ho trovato anche la casa giusta, splendida terrazza sul porto, perfetta per la colazione e la cena, e tutta la casa è curata e tenuta benissimo. si dorme molto bene, le camere sono fresche e silenziose. complimenti a Sabina, la proprietaria, ci rivedremo molto presto! grazie!
