Quality French experience
This village house is really perfect for a taste of French village life in a great region to explore. We particularly liked the roof top patio but in reality the whole place was well renovated, homily and a joy to spend a break in. We went for walks to the lake a drove to a few of the local villages Gino suggested for good food. We stayed 4 days but could have stayed at least a week, Gino was helpful and we have great memories of this 4 days of our break. This is a place worth booking and a region with magis villages and castles worth exploring.

Wonderful region
Stayed in the House for 3 weeks, it was simply great. The beds might be a little small for tall people, but that is normal in France ;-).

Great accomodation
Maison Caramany was the perfect stay for us, plenty of room, well appointed, and the owner has thought of everything and some. We certainly had everything we needed. We found the top terrace an excellent place to sit in the evening while the sun goes down and lights the hill opposite, and it was an excellent place to just enjoy overlooking a typical French village.

Lovely house in a sleepy village
Thankyou for a fantastic stay in Caramany, we all enjoyed it so much. The house is full of character and is in a wonderful position right in the middle of town and was really well equipped. The terrace was a really gorgeous bonus. Would love to come back for longer next time.

Loved Loved and Loved.
My Husband and I spent a month here and we absolutely LOVED it. The home had everything you could ask for in the hills of the Pyrenees Mountains, an awesome little medieval town surrounded by beautiful vineyards and spectacular views. The place was kept perfectly clean and there was not one more thing you could have asked for, as everything you needed was at hand. Gino (who we rented it from) was super friendly and helpful. Included wifi, cable. Loved the many excursions we took (Carcassonne Castle and Queribus are musts). Close to Spain (check out Figueres for a great time at the Salvador Dali Museum and Calella for a great beach town). Caramany was the perfect place to get away if you're looking for peace and quiet. I came here to work and it's a writer's paradise. A great place for wine lovers as well. If I ever return to the South of France, I would definitely shoot to stay here again!

Fantastic house in a beautiful village setting
The house was very clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. Set in a beautiful French village with spectacular views. Gino has provided a really comprehensive guide of things to do and see in the area, no detail has been overlooked. A great base for touring the area, ideal for visiting beach, cities, cycling, walking, etc. Beautiful river gorges within easy distance. Would definitely recommend.

Absolutely fantastic holiday in a wonderful place
This place is an absolute must see. I would highly recommend a visit. We travelled as a first holiday away with our 2 year old son and even he thoroughly enjoyed it. The pull out bed is ideal upstairs for a toddler as it is close to the floor and there is a child gate at the property for safety. The house itself exceeded our expectations, with a fantastic layout, well decorated and furnished and very clean. The balcony and terrace are an added bonus to the property so we are intent on returning during an even warmer month to take full advantage of alfresco dining and to use the BBQ. We used the property as a base to tour the local area, which has the most beautiful countryside and views from the mountains. The history of the region is very interesting and there are many Cathar castles to see (and climb!). Carcassonne is only and hour and half away from the property and is well worth a visit. It is also easy to take a drive into Spain for the day and we made it down to Barcelona stopping off at the beach on the way home. The local wines are fabulous and in just a short walk from the house you can partake in some local wine tasting.

Authentic old France unspoilt in every way
Had a wondeful stay at Maison Caramany, a beautifull dwelling in an unspoilt village in the south of France. We arrived to find a small village at the top of a green valley with simply breathtaking views, the house was easy to find and was equiped with everything we needed for our holliday. The local wine was superb and very cheap maybe we had a little too much! The local villagers were very helpfull in terms of what to see and where to go which made our stay all the more pleasurable. Very close to the Spanish border unfortunately we didnt hire a car so were unable to visit but perfectly situated should you wish to do this

About the neighbourhood
Caramany is a haven for those looking to wind down. With a population of 150 and next to no traffic, village life is simple, intimate and peaceful. Madame Aubert pulls up every morning on the square in her little white van, selling baguettes, croissants and cakes. Pop into the “Mairie” (Mayor’s office) to see if there’s an upcoming fete or petanque (French boules) tournament you can join in with. Pick up a map there which outlines walks in the surrounding hills. Have a drink and game of pool with the villagers at Patrick’s café a few doors up. Enjoy a barbecue on the terrace of Maison Caramany or take a picnic to the belvedere outside the village which offers breathtaking views of the lake below. All this will make you realise just how fast our lives have become.
