We offer a traditional village house in La Liviniere; a renowned wine village with medieval origins in the Languedoc, Minervois region. The house is comfortable and spacious with 4 bedrooms sleeping 8. It has original stone foundations and thick stone walls. The current building dates from 1857 and we have owned it since 2001 and renovated the interior. The property now features a large, open plan top floor living room which leads onto a secluded sun terrace and a shady loggia with spectacular views over vineyards and olive groves and the Corbieres hills.

About the neighbourhood
The village of La Liviniere has been an occupied site growing vines and olives since Roman times. The road plan reveals a circular, fortified village with some remnants of fortification walls and gates still visible. Within the village centre is a large (private) Chateau building and a Church which dates from the 11th - 13th centuries with a distinctive 'dome' bell tower unique in the region. The streets are narrow and enclosed. Cool in summer, many are accessible for cars though tight for space.
Facilities include a bakery, a general stores and a pharmacy. There is a cafe- bar and a good quality restaurant (Les Meulieres). Shops are open from early morning until lunchtime then again in the late afternoon. There is a doctor (medecin) in the village. For activities there is a boule...
