Wilf's Barn is a delightful little barn conversion located at the end of a farm track and set in the owners grounds at Brickyard Farm in a rural setting on the edge of the village of Wedmore and the Somerset Levels. It is a perfect base for exploring the many attractions that Somerset has to offer being close to Wells, Glastonbury and Cheddar with Bath and Bristol less than an hour away, and it is great for bird watchers, ramblers, cyclists, golfers, fishing, cider drinkers and even those wanting a spot of retail therapy. There are walks from the door, gardens to visit, and restaurants and pubs to try ... there really is something for everyone. There are walks from the door, gardens to visit, and restaurants and pubs to try ... there really is something for everyone. Wedmore is a thriving village in the heart of the beautiful Somerset countryside. It boasts a farm shop, a deli, chemist, fishmonger/ greengrocer, village stores as well as three pubs all serving good food, an indian restaurant and some lovely clothes and gift shops. These are all within a five minute walk of the cottage. The cottage has been designed to provide every comfort without losing it's character and rustic charm. Downstairs the well equipped kitchen and living dining area are open plan with a double height ceiling and striking fireplace. The bathroom is also on the ground floor and has a bath with shower above and a wc. In the winter you can luxuriate in the underfloor heating and unwind in front of the cosy log fire. The bedroom is on a mezzanine floor above, with a steep sloping ceiling and velux window. The bed linen is pure egyptian cotton and there are plenty of fluffy bath towels and a soft bathrobe each. Essentials such as salt, pepper, olive oil, tea, coffee and sugar are provided French windows open out from the ground floor to a gravelled garden area that wraps around the cottage with stone urns and planters filled with flowers. In the summer this is a lovely spot to sit and enjoy a morning coffee or later in the day a barbecue and cool glass of wine. This is a wonderful area to visit at all times of the year. In winter the nearby Somerset Levels are the place to see vast murmurations of starlings performing their aerial acrobatics in their thousands. Here is what one guest wrote in our visitors book in February 2012 'Idyllic little barn, we've had a wonderful stay - thank you! If you're interested in wildlife we would highly recommend a visit to Avalon Marshes. We watched 3 million starlings come in to roost - absolutely breathtaking'. Some comments from our guests: 'We've had a wonderful time here in Wedmore. The cottage is ideally located and is a home from home. Thank you for making us feel so welcome.' 'Just what we needed to recharge our batteries. Lovely cottage and surroundings. Fantastic time spent at Shapwick Heath watching starlings murmurations. Hoping we'll be back before long' 'Wonderful stay, back in a heartbeat it's just what us city folk needed.' Please note - the cottage is situated approximately quarter of a mile down a farm track, it is easily accessible for all but the lowest of cars. Arrival from 4pm and departure by 11am allowing time for a last leisurely breakfast.More

Interaction with guests
We like to leave our guests in peace and privacy to enjoy their stay, the cottage is in our garden here at Brickyard Farm but well away from the house. We generally communicate by text or email but are very happy to pop over to the cottage to see our guests if asked to do so and we are always happy to help and answer questions.
