I am sorry that the cottage did not live up to your expectations. We do advertise ourselves as being in a secluded area, an hour from Norwich and Cambridge. The rural mobile phone reception is patchy, and the Wi-Fi works better on laptops than some...More

Local activities:
Walking and cycling in Thetford Forest, with marked walking and cycling trails, children's play areas, cafe, toilets and small shops with maps etc available to buy. High Lodge has bike hire and the Go Ape assault course.

Bird watching - Lakenheath Fen, with a visitors centre is only a couple of miles away. A wetland that is home to marsh harriers, hobbies, reed and sedge warblers nest, as well as breeding golden orioles and cranes.
Weeting Heath is one of the best places to see stone curlews, open from April to September.
Welney Wildfowl and Wetland Trust. Year round activities, including dawn viewing of thousands of migrating swans in winter. Also an hour away from several reserves on the North Norfolk Coast.
