Holiday Rental House
Charming 500 year old townhouse on 4 levels. Perfect for a winter or summer retreat! The property is south facing and gets the sun all year round, yet in the summer the thick walls keep it lovely and cool after a day in the sun. On the ground floor is the kitchen/dining-room with beautiful vaulted ceiling. A bedroom with 3 beds and a bathroom with shower is on the second floor. On the third floor is the master bedroom with stunning views. On the top floor is the bright, sunny living room where the views get even better! One can gaze out at night and see the village of Castelvittorio seemingly suspended in the air. The living room has a large comfortable sofa which turns into a double bed. The property has rare vehicle access close to the front door for unloading and there is parking 100m away. We have central heating making the house lovely and cosy for those winter nightsMore

Pigna is an extremely unusual and beautiful place to stay. This house was a great base, it was like living in a home and the welcome basket on arrival was really appreciated, as was the cleanliness of the house. I appreciated having a good settee...More

Casa Pigna was not what we expected at all and with the exception of Georgia, who was very kind, most of our communications with the owners were very unsatisfactory. This is a completely inaccessible property for anyone other than hardened hikers. It is perched in...More

I don't know what I was thinking renting this unit. On arrival it was clear that the photos are specifically done to make the rooms look bigger. The air conditioning is non existant and then upon complaint, a portable unit was provided. The stairs are...More

We regret that Ms MacDougall was not enamoured to the many charms of Pigna and our house as all our past guests over ten years have been. The two top floors are south-facing and have the sun all day and people are always very impressed...More

About the neighbourhood
Pigna has a bank, two pizzeria, a trattoria which sells traditional home-cooked Italian food, a highly-regarded Ligurian restaurant (the latter two are both mentioned in the Guardian article by Joshua Stein) and a four star spa hotel with a restaurant, swimming pool and beauty treatments. There are many more restaurants in the vicinity. It has 3 grocery shops and a chemist. There are beautiful natural swimming holes dotted around the village if you want a change from the beach. A nearby campsite has a swimming pool which can be used for a small fee - they even allow you to take your own food and drink. In the Summer the village is host to numerous dances and cultural events. The village is very child-friendly with a playground, football pitch and a tennis court. For the more active guests ...
