Beautiful villa and excellent staff
My wife, son daughter and myself were very pleased to stay at Ebb tide it met our expectations fully and went beyond. This was due the the helpful and friendly staff. Our time at the villa was pure joy: the scenery and sound of the sea and ample space to relax and sunbathe or cool off in the plunge pool was a luxury. The bedrooms are spacious and very comfortable as is the rest of the villa.
Barbados has many places of interest and fits village is well positioned so that most parts of the island can be reached easily. There are plenty of good restaurants nearby I would recommend The Tides and Il Tiempo which is just a few minutes walk from the villa.
We can’t wait for our next opportunity to visit again.

Outstanding home and staff!
The home and location are both spectacular, but the staff is even better. In particular, the chef (Marlisa) was so great and everything she made was amazing! Will be returning.

Fabulous Ebb Tide
This has been my fifth visit to Ebb Tide so it’s obvious that I’m a fan.
Just being in Barbados is enough to calm the soul but also staying at the fabulous Ebb Tide makes any holiday a paradise on earth.
There is nothing to complain about - absolutely nothing. The villa has large, airy rooms that are beautifully furnished. The chef is one of the best and the food is amazing. The housekeeper is lovely and nothing is too much trouble.
Add to all of this the beautiful beach location of the villa with tremendous views and you are truly spoilt.
Here’s to the next time.

Beautiful villa in a wonderful location
Beautiful villa in a wonderful location. Marrisa is wonderful cook and Jackie did our laundry daily and kept the villa spotless. Setting perfect on the beach with swimming and snorkeling, Short walk to a great Italian restaurant with beachfront bar. Would definitely come back !

A little piece of paradise...
We have just returned from a fabulous 2 weeks holiday celebrating Christmas, New Year and a 21st birthday at Ebb Tide - what a truly special place! From our initial booking Neil, the owner, could not have been more helpful in sorting out our queries and providing us with all the info/communication necessary. When we arrived we were greeted by Andrew (property manager), Merlissa (chef), Jackie (housekeeper) and Henry (night security) - everything is very professionally run - nothing was too much trouble!
Ebb Tide sits right on the beach in Fitts Village. Waking up to the view of the Caribbean, early morning swims in the crystal clear waters, some wonderful snorkelling and the use of kayaks were just a part of what Ebb Tide offered. With every meal taken outside by the sea, we had a better view and better food than top restaurants on the island. Merlissa's cooking was out of this world - she catered for all of our needs - we had a few parties and her BBQs and rum punches were the best! Jackie kept the villa spotless and we also found our clothes washed and neatly folded every day. They were both wonderful with our kids and whilst they were never intrusive they very much felt like a part of our family whilst we were out there. Henry quietly looked after the place at night time although we never felt unsafe - Fitts Village is a very friendly area with the bonus of a supermarket across the way. Andrew, Merlissa and Jackie were all helpful in advising us on the best places to visit on the island - we went to the Christmas day service at the local gospel church, a fantastic days sailing on a catamaran, visited the beautiful Huntes gardens and St Nicholas Abbey to name few places and also did a day's Batik course with Henderson - highly recommended! All in all a fabulous holiday - thank you so much Neil and Wendy - two weeks was not long enough - we will definitely be back!

Amazing luxury vacation house right on the beach; with stunning sunset views!
As I sit her at the airport on my way back home from a wonderful, relaxing vacation at Ebb Tide, I am trying to figure out how I can get back as soon as possible.
I spent a week at Ebb Tide, beginning Saturday, September 22, 2018. When we arrived by taxi I was a little surprised by the outside of the house based on the pictures of the inside I had seen. It was quite understated. As we walked through the door we were warmly greeted by Andrew, Merlisa and Adeline. The greeting relaxed me and made me feel welcome. We were still in the entrance to the house which is a small entrance area. As Andrew led us into the house; my eyes widened and my heart sang as we walked into a beautiful dining area and living room with the doors open onto a full view of a beautiful garden area and right past the garden the beautiful ocean. I was impressed. It was beautiful! It was exactly as pictured on the website. However, the feeling you get when you first encounter this beautiful scene is indescribable.
I have stayed at wonderful hotels on vacation. However, I have never stayed at a guest house, not to mention a guest house with staff. After my experience at Ebb Tide I don’t know if I can vacation any other way..
The staff was amazing! On the second day, I went to my room and the one item I had put in the hamper was on my bed washed and folded. I took a double take. I wondered, had I taken the item out of the hamper and left it on the bed? Was I losing it? I was fully expecting to fill the laundry basked over the course of my stay and pack by dirt clothes in the bag I brought with me for dirty clothes. This was wonderful! Every day the items I put in the basked the night before were on my bed by late afternoon; clean, folded and in some cases ironed. The room was immaculate after the cleaning by Adeline.
Now as for the food. All I can say is “Awesome”. Merlisa is an amazing cook! No other meal I had on the island compared to Merlisa’s meals; even meals at Sandy Lane! On my next trip to Ebb Tide I will not waste any time or money on restaurants. Not only is Merlisa an amazing cook but she is a great person. She was very pleasant and personable. She was also very thoughtful in planning meals for our group. She quickly identified what each person liked and immediately adjusted our meals to ensure that each person had a wonderful meal with items they enjoyed most. I am from the NY/NJ area so I can go to fine restaurants serving American or European cuisine anytime at home. Having a chef prepare wonderful local dishes was great. Even better was experiencing new foods and dishes which I never had; like sweat bread, marlin, fish cakes and flying fish.
Now for our security; Henry. I don’t know if we needed security. However, having Henry around in the evening did make us feel safe. He was on the exterior of the house and on a few occasions during the initial days of our stay as he walked the grounds we were startled as we saw the male body passing the window. We soon became very familiar with the body moving outside and would say “Oh, there’s Henry”. Let’ me be clear he was not lurking or passing often. Just on occasion.
I should mention that the house is open and the only air conditioners are in the bedrooms. However, the cool breeze from the ocean is very refreshing and there are lovely fans throughout the house assisting with the breeze. As a result of the open layout you will have to bring insect repellant. I did get a few mosquito bites.
I have seen posts by persons concerned about their privacy with staff at a vacation venue. Although the staff was around you did not feel they were there. We felt we had our privacy. They were busy at work or in another area of the house when they were not cleaning or preparing meals.

Terrific
Just spent 10 lovely days at Ebb Tide with husband, Mom, daughter and her husband. We all really enjoyed our time at Ebb Tide and in Barbados. Merlisa, Jackie and Henry are all lovely and accommodating making the villa that much more special, it is our first vacation rental with staff and now I think we are spoilt as it really makes the vacation that much more relaxing. The mature and beautiful gardens surrounded by palm trees and ocean views, the sights and sounds and all the boats sailing by are all just so relaxing and mesmerizing, not to mention the gorgeous sunsets straight infront of the house and the little birds keeping us company! Having breakfast, lunch and dinner right next to the ocean listening to the waves was just such a treat in itself!
Husband, daughter and son in law enjoyed snorkeling in the reefs right by the house and the 100s of fish swimming around (made for some great gopro videos), saw a few turtles popping up for some air and they did some jet skiing too.
I am in a wheelchair and from the start Neil was very helpful with all my questions and the house and downstairs bedroom and garden were accessible, they even put a ramp for the couple steps from the house to the garden. Also the dowstairs roll in shower and bathroom had just been remodelled making it perfectly accessible, really great!
We had a rental car and visited some parts of Barbados wich ere all very nice too!
All in all we had a great time and really enjoyed ourselves! Thank you all, owners and staff for such a lovely vacation!

FANTASTIC OCEANFRONT VILLA IN BARBADOS
Stayed for 8 wonderful nights in June 2017, wonderful staff and location. Owners very informative and helpful. Advised us about possible construction next door, well in advance of arrival, which was not a problem at all. Looking to return as soon as possible.

"Best Time in Barbados"
Excellent Villa!!! We had a group of 8 adults and had a blast. This location of the villa is great. The food that Marrisa cooks is unbelievable! There is no need to go out to eat because you wont find any better meal than right at Ebb Tide! The beach is right off your Patio. Jackie was awesome also. The two lady's made the trip so enjoyable. Thanks Marrisa and Jackie!! The only problem I had was that we only stayed 5 nights. If your looking for a awesome vacation in Barbados Ebb Tide is your place. Thanks again Neil and Wendy

About the neighbourhood
Fitts Village is an unspoiled part of St James.You can still see the local fisherman bringing in there catch.We can organize fishing trips with with local fishermen if desired. Il Tempio beach bar and restaurant is a 2 mins stroll along the beach.
A very good local supermarket,pharmacy and doctors within a 2 min walk.
Ebb Tide is a great place to party or chill out in a hammock under the palm trees in picturesque gardens which lead directly onto the golden sands.
However for those of you that feel a little more energetic there are plenty of activities close by that our house manager can arrange.
All water sports can be arranged.

Getting around
The bus service in Barbados is both cheap and very good .They operate a one price get on and get off for $2.50 ($1.25 US ) you can literally go from one end of the Island to the other for this price. Taxis are also quite inexpensive. Our house manager can arrange a Taxi if needed. If you need a rental car this can be arranged ,We do also have a car available for rent. If driving in Barbados you must first obtain a Barbados tourist licence $10 Bds.This is easy to get most car hire companies can also issue this licence.
