Laundry cottage is a cosy and charming two bedroom Victorian terraced house in a quiet residential area on the outskirts of Ilfracombe, within walking distance (20 mins) of the town centre with pretty harbour and famous tunnels beach. It is also only a 10 minute drive to the beach at Woolacombe, which is 2 miles long and great for surfing and walking at all times of year. The cottage has a lovely homely feel and lots of personal touches as it is used by its owner on a regular basis. It sleeps up to 4 adults ( double bed and bunks) plus there is a Travel cot, high chair and stairgate. The kitchen is well equipped and the cottage has FREE WIFI. There is a small sunny patio garden and covered space for hanging washing/wetsuits. There is a small sunny patio garden and covered space for hanging washing/wetsuits. The cottage is on the South West edge of town on the road to Lee, along a rural valley with the Torrs on one side and the Cairn on the other. Access to walking on the Torrs, the Tarka trail and the coastal path is all about 100 metres up the road, as is the bus stop. Parking is free on the street outside. Ilfracombe itself is a quaint old harbour town, with many shops, restaurants and pubs, plus a few good wine bars and even a theatre and a cinema! There are lots of activities on offer all year round. You can go sea-fishing, or take a day trip along the coast or to Lundy Island from the harbour. Ideal base for visiting Exmoor or the many beaches and walks along the North Devon Coast. Also good for golf, riding, surfing and cream teas! The mattresses and bedding were all new in 2016 along with a new sofa and chairs in 2018. Linen & towels are included. More

We had a lovely few days at Laundry cottage, and everything we needed was provided. It was a pleasure to deal with Fiona, and the whole experience was very good indeed.

About the neighbourhood
Ilfracombe is in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, nestling snugly amongst the rugged cliffs of the majestic Atlantic coast. The beautiful and breathtaking scenery of the North Devon coast surrounds this charming natural harbour. The harbour is now home to Verity, a stunning 20ft high bronze statue by Damien Hirst, erected in October 2012. The town has grown up around the harbour where today fishing vessels share anchorage with pleasure craft, and from where the M. S. Oldenburg regularly sails to Lundy Island, twelve miles off the coastline. The resort has been popular since the 1830’s when the Victorians started to visit the area and much of the architecture today is a reminder of the Victorian era. Many of the large, elegant buildings, have since been converted into hotels. Wit...
Getting around
It's ideal to have a car to get to the beaches but you can walk into Ilfracombe easily for bars and restaurants. A cab is only £3 each way if you don't fancy the 15 min walk. If you don't drive, there is also a good local bus service to get to most places or you can hire bikes....
