We spent a relaxing week at this lovely old cottage. It's very spacious, nicely furnished & decorated and the owner has provided everything you could ever need (including board games, books, pretty flowers and homemade biscuits, which my kids loved). Obviously you have to bring your own food, dishwasher tablets etc but there is a big Asda at Dunbar, so you can fill the pantry for the week.
The previous reviewer clearly didn't know how to use any of the the 3 woodburners, central heating or oil heaters because the cottage heats up quickly and stays lovely and warm. There is no mobile signal but the wifi works perfectly everywhere except the bedroom.
Location-wise, it's in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by fields. There is a big garden to sit in and you hear nothing but the wind and the cows quietly munching on the grass in the field next door. My kids loved the garden and spent a lot of time playing in it.
We spent the days visiting local towns, beauty spots, castles and Edinburgh Zoo. There are so many amazing places to visit within an hour of the cottage.
Definitely the best cottage I have stayed in and I'd recommend it to anyone.

Could be better
Stayed at this cottage last week and the location is lovely with a pet friendly garden.
Despite having electric heating and wood burning stoves cottage is very cold at times.
Was told it had basic wifi but this was non existent and had no mobile signal so meant I could not keep track of my Business while I was away! Not good feeling very cut off.
You would expect some basics to be left for you but there were a few grains of salt in the grinder! Seems a bit mean.
For what I paid for it it was a bit disappointing. While I was there a leak occurred in the washing machine and was reported on the Monday but no one appeared to look at it all week! It wasnt until I returned home to a mobile signal there was a text from the owner saying the machine could not be looked at until the weekend!
Not great service. I wont be back.
