We accept one dog only by prior arrangement at a cost of £20 per week. We ask that you bring your own towels & bedding for your dog please - there is a dog basket which you are really welcome to use but no bedding. We request that your dog does not go on any furniture. Unfortunately we do not accept any other pets. Thank you for your help in this matter. Everything you need. Great away from it all location but not isolated. The owner couldn't have been more helpful. It is spotlessly clean and the beds are very comfortable. Lovely open fire so it was warm and cosy. Beautifully quiet. Lovey beaches nearby and easy...More

About the neighbourhood
The name ‘Oldhamstocks’ (pronounced Oldhamstocks) is said to have come from an Anglo-Saxon source: ‘Ald ham stoc’ which means an old home or dwelling. The alternative theory is that it comes from the Gaelic ‘Altan’ and ‘Stotan’ meaning a small burn and tree trunks. Oldhamstocks is said to be one of East Lothian’s ‘hidden villages’ and certainly that is the impression given as you reach the Cocket Hat at the top of the Smiddy Brae and wonder where the village is. The village consists of a single row of houses and at its West end, grouped round the green, are the former school and schoolhouse, the parish church and its manse, the market cross and a stone well for drinking water.
