Outstanding accommodation, location and hosts.
Outstanding comfort and view. I was back to visit family but wanted it to feel like a holiday, this was beyond perfect. Wendy and David were brilliant hosts, the accomodation was immaculate and brilliantly equipped, the view spectacular and the location could not be better for nipping into Belfast, Bangor, Ards, Dundonald and Holywood. My daughter loved feeding the chickens and we are already planning our return visit ❤️

Amazing country cottage with excellent facilities .
David and Wendy were absolute fantastic hosts. They could not do enough to make our stay fabulous. The cottage was lovely and was equipped with everything we needed. A washer and dryer plus dishwasher was supplied with all the detergents and dishwashing tabs supplied. The freshly played eggs were amazing for breakfast. We will definitely be staying with them again on all our visits to NI. The welcome basket was a lovely addition to our stay . I would recommend their holiday cottage to both families and couples .

Perfect cottage for a little family get away!
We stayed at the Holywood Hill Country Cottage for a week in August so we could have a base for visiting family and doing some sight seeing with our three children aged 10, 7 and 9 months. The cottage was excellent: clean, comfortable, cosy and well stocked with everything we could possibly need. It was a real home from home which is exactly what we needed with young children. There was space for the kids to run around and get some fresh air and lots of games, books etc to keep them occupied. The beds were comfy and provided a restful nights sleep after busy days. The views were beautiful from the cottage. Holywood is a short drive and provides everything you need in terms of shops etc. Wendy was incredibly helpful and welcoming, we were provided with welcome items when we arrived, bread, milk, cakes which was great after a long journey. The kids were taken to collect fresh eggs from the free range hens which tasted amazing. We would definitely visit again, really enjoyed our stay, would highly recommend.

Beautiful Stay
We are just back from a 3 night stay in Wendy's Ballycultra Cottage (the upstairs cottage). The cottage is spotless, very modern and so comfortable. The bed was very comfortable, lovely hot showers, the kitchen had everything we needed including a lovely welcome basket which was a nice touch. The view from the balcony in Ballycultra cottage is just gorgeous we enjoyed a few evenings sipping wine and looking through the binoculars! I mean what more could you want! It is a short drive into Holywood village and 10 mins to the beautiful Helen's Bay beach. It is less than 20 mins drive into Belfast. It was exactly what we wanted, a nice relaxing getaway, a base to explore Northern Ireland but not be in the hustle and bustle of Belfast city. Wendy was a joy to deal with nothing was too much. I really can't wait to return we had such a nice trip. Thank you Wendy you are such a brilliant host. Looking forward to seeing you again soon Cathriona and Nick

Refreshing and Reviving ! ! !
This property is amazing, the setting and the views will refresh your soul as well as your mind. We had almost 3 weeks to enjoy the experience and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a unique place to stay. Everything you could ever need in a Holiday rental is provided by the Hosts including fresh eggs every day and a very generous Welcome Basket. The furnishings and decor are superb and of the best quality. Thanks a million to Wendy and David for providing such a beautiful home from home.

Warm welcome at Holywood Hill
As a group of 3 adults, we booked the upper apartment at Holywood Hill as we were visiting family in Belfast and wanted to visit some of the sights of Northern Ireland. The accommodation was very comfortable, clean and well maintained and equipped. Wendy greeted us with a large welcome pack of tea, coffee, bread, milk, butter and marmalade together with free-range eggs from her hens and a large tray of cakes. The property stands in the middle of fields with extensive views to Helens Bay and across the water to Carrickfergus. Access to Belfast is easy - under half an hour's drive to the city centre and the City Airport; about 20 minutes to the beautiful National Trust property of Mount Stewart by Strangford Lough; and about 1 1/2 hours to the Giant's Causeway. This is excellent accommodation in a beautiful location. We hope to visit again!

About the neighbourhood
Northern Ireland is a country of beauty and variety; and no part of it combines so much of each in so neat and compact an area as the heart of Down. The world knows that the Mountains of Mourne sweep down to the sea - at Newcastle. The sea itself invades the land, forming the great bird sanctuary and yachting paradise of Strangford Lough. St Patrick sailed into the lough in A.D. 432 and eventually died - at Downpatrick. The Ards Peninsula with it's rolling drumlins and protected coves forms a shelter for the waters of Strangford Lough. Patrick Bronte, whose three daughters became great novelists, inspired them by tales of his youth in the Bann Valley. The quiet river valley from Banbridge to Rathfriland is nowadays called The Bronte Country. Here is a concentration of delights for which you would motor many miles in other places - firm, clean beaches; shoals of sea fish and rivers full of game and coarse fish; championship-standard golf; two superb forest parks; two cathedrals; castles and gardens: boating. bird-watching, walking and pony trekking.
