In the Royal forest of Dean and the quiet hamlet of Ellwood, Chapel Cottage, nestles behind the old Sunday school. Built of stone, with some exposed stone walls inside .The small cottage offers comfortable and relaxing accommodation with charm and character.

It is well equipped, simply decorated and immaculately clean. The garden is well maintained and fenced, great for dogs, with direct access to the forest.

It is ideal for walkers, mountain bikers and wildlife enthusiasts. The market town of Coleford is 5 km away where all amenities can be found.

Delightful cottage. Took us a little while to find it as it is back off the road a little but really close to the old chapel. Weather wasn't too good, but greeted by a lovely cake and eggs, one of which was enormous. Lovely place...More

The area is ideal for walkers with a choice of designated walks, Offas Dike path, wye valley walk, poets path walk and wysis way, or you can use footpaths & forest tracks to explore the forest. Mountain bikers can enjoy designated cycle tracks through the forest and hire bikesWalkers & Mountain bikers will share tracks & roads with the local free range grazing sheep. Wildlife enthusiasts can enjoy the RSPB centre at Nags Head, the lakes at Mallards Pike, or even see wild deer and boar in the forest. Slimbridge wildfoul trust and national birds of prey centre are in travelling distance. Historical places of interest include, Tintern Abbey, castles at St Bravials, Goodrich, Chepstow, Caldicot and Raglan. Getting around
There is off road parking for your car, but if you want to see the sights across the Forest of Dean other than by car. Bus routes run through out the forest with maps & timetables available from Tourist information. There is a train station at Lydney if you want to travel further a field, by rail.
You can also travel on two wheels, as the cycle track across the Forest can be joined near by.
There are good road links North, South, East & West!
