Holiday Rental House -
2 Bedrooms , 1 Bathroom , Sleeps 4
Buxton, Derbyshire, England
Cosy, clean and comfortable, Clough Head Cottage is a perfect place for a holiday break - to relax after a day's walking, cycling or sightseeing in the beautiful White Peak region of the Peak District National Park, on the Staffordshire / Derbyshire border, and close to many outstanding attractions.
The cottage is part of our farmhouse but is self-contained with its own front door. Sitting room, kitchen/diner, utility, bath/shower room and two bedrooms (one king-size double, one with single bed and single futon - this is quite narrow for an adult and goes alongside the single bed when needed). We have a cot available if you require one. The sitting room is equipped with satellite TV, sound system, games chest, books and local maps, CDs and DVDs. The kitchen has everything for your needs - cooker, microwave, toaster, and is fully equip...

Alick's cottage has everything you need to relax and enjoy during holidays. We loved the open view of the hills, the chickens and the alpacas. And after visiting places at Peak District, we could relax in the cottage where there are comfortable beds, books, CDs,...More

About the neighbourhood
Clough Head is on the side of a ridge which divides the Upper Dove and Manifold rivers, with the White Peak on one side and the Staffordshire Moorlands on the other. The nearby picturesque village of Longnor has a good local store, a post office/store, a pub serving food, an excellent fish and chip shop, two cafés and an arts and craft centre.
The elegant spa town of Buxton with its pavilion, opera house and ornamental gardens and parks, its yearly festival and range of music and plays and fabulous free events through the year, is a short drive away. Leek with its antique shops and busy market is a similar distance in the opposite direction. Also within easy driving distance are the magnificent stately homes of Chatsworth and Haddon Hall, the attractive Peak towns of Bakewell, Ashbourne,...

Airport: Manchester Airport: 40.0 km
Railway: Buxton: 12.0 km
Sat-Nav systems using SK17 0RG postcode should bring you to us - but usually want to stop at our neighbour down the lane. Clough Head Cottage is the first house on the left with a grey barn next to the house.

Coming from the South, from the A50: take the A38/A52 to Ashbourne via Derby or the A515 to Ashbourne. Continue on A515, direction Buxton. After 13 miles turn left to Longnor. In Longnor turn right after Market Place towards Buxton, take first left at edge of village to Hollinsclough. Ignore next sign to Hollinsclough at bottom of hill, but carry on up past farm on right and take next right, with farm gate on corner. Clough Head Cottage is second right - first house on corner with a grey barn. There is a brown sign on the corner.

Coming from the North, from Buxton: take the A53 to L...
