Emma and Pete welcome you to Edge Lee. Edge Lee is situated on the edge of the Goyt Valley and the Peak District National Park but is still only 15-20 minutes' walk from the centre of the picturesque spa town of Buxton. Bishops Lane is on the route of many of the popular walks near Buxton and is a quiet country lane, despite its close proximity to the centre of Buxton.
The available accommodation consists of a large self-contained flat consisting of a king-sized bed, ensuite shower room, sitting area and fully fitted kitchen (with fridge, hob, oven, microwave and dishwasher). What a find!
Stayed here for one night on a bike packing trip from Manchester to Chesterfield. After a hard days riding over the Cat and Fiddle, I cannot fully express my delight at entering this studio flat!
It was in a beautiful peaceful spot, decorated and furnished to a very high standard and the kitchen and bathroom were so well appointed. It was spotlessly clean and lovely and warm. The owners had thought of every detail you could possible need…even down to bathrobes!
As a welcome, we had delicious lemon drizzle cake, fruit, milk and cereal….perfect as we were travelling light, carrying everything on our bikes.
We had contacted the owners prior to booking, to ask if they could safely store our bikes overnight and they could not have been more obliging, allowing us to put them in their secure garage.
We met Emma, the owner, as we were leaving and she was lovely. We could not thank her enough and would unreservedly recommend this hideaway to anyone wanting to enjoy what Buxton and the surrounding area has to offfer.

Beautiful studio flat in quiet picturesque surroundings
We thought the apartment was clean, modern and tastefully decorated, with everything you could need and more. Although attached to the hosts house above their garage, the flat is very private and quiet. Communication before our stay was great and we had full instructions on finding them and how to get into the property. We were met on arrival and made to feel very welcome. The hosts had left some eggs from their hens, which we had the pleasure of watching pecking about in the garden. There were other little added extras left to welcome us, which were all a nice touch. I particularly loved how the trees reached up to our windows and that we could see the wild birds as they perched just a few feet away from us outside. We would definitely recommend this place and would look forward to staying again if we were back in the area for another peaceful getaway close to some great walks in the peak district.

Quality place to stay in Buxton
We just wanted an overnight stay to visit Buxton, as we’ve only ever driven through it. Edge Lee is a modern, studio conversion above the owners’ garage. Quality materials have been used to create a clean and tidy space. It is convenient for the town and quiet, despite the free range chickens. Recommended for any duration of stay.

Home from home
A great find. We were sad to stay for just one night. It’s tucked away in a quiet area just a 20 minute walk into the heart of Buxton. Wonderful accommodation with lots of attention to detail and home comforts.

Gorgeous 5* accomodation: Self contained loft apartment set in amazing countryside
What an amazing little gem! 5* accommodation in a self-contained loft apartment set in amazing countryside on the outskirts of Buxton. This apartment is a higher standard than most 5* hotel suites. Big double bed, fluffy pillows, snuggly duvet, high-gloss fitted kitchen, breakfast-bar, bedroom dressing-table, wardrobes and walk-in 'wet-room'/shower/wc.
Lounge area is complete with sofa and flat screen TV. The owner Emma C and her delightful husband have 'kitted' the apartment with every conceivable kitchen appliance: hob, oven, microwave, crockery, cutlery, pots, pans, egg-cups, condiments even herbal tea-bags! They provided new white bathrobes in the wardrobe and fresh fluffy towels and shower-gels and soap in the bathroom - amazing!
There were two big slices of freshly baked cake, fresh fruit and eggs from their own hens who were a delight to see clucking around the garden and are obviously happy and healthy birds.
The owners are lovely and from the first email communication prior to our stay they made us feel very welcome. Edge Lee Guest House is 'home away from home' accommodation and felt like you could move right in and stay a very long-time. It is also ideal for those who like to go walking and explore the Derbyshire countryside as it is in the perfect setting. We will definitely be back x

Perfect place to stay - Fantastic - Highly Recommend Edge Lee
Immaculate studio apartment situated above owners property. It has everything you need for a comfortable stay. Towels, crockery, cutlery, cooking equipment, complimentary toiletries, breakfast cereal, tea/coffee, water, milk, home made cake, fresh eggs and fruit. Lovely touch for guest arriving after a long journey. Added bonus was bathroom underfloor heating (fab). We asked Pete and Emma if we could park the car early so we could get out walking but as no-one stayed the previous night to our arrival we were able to check in and unpack by 10.30am. That was great for us. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend to any couple visiting Buxton. Very close to town centre for anyone that doesn't want to walk too far.

Poor accommodation
When we arrived the studio flat was small. It was attached to the owners onsite property above a garage. Did not get the welcoming courtesy cake like everyone else. No deposit or money was taken upon arrival which seemed weird. It felt like we were staying at someones house. As soon as you walk into the studio flat theres a door opposite which looks like its connected to the property. Did not feel safe. Gave the key back immediately and went elsewhere. Was a wasted journey and time. WILL NEVER COME BACK!! NOT WORTH £150.

We are very sad that you were not satisfied with our accommodation, you are the first person who has been dissatisfied.
As you booked independently (at very short notice) we waived the non-refundable deposit for ease all round.
Our description of our accommodation does not state that we provide cake. However, this is done as a welcoming gesture to our guests. Cake was there on the night you arrived along with fruit, milk and home-made juice.
The property is self-contained with its own access. Although, it is attached to the owners house.
Please note, for other readers, the price of our accommodation is not £150 per night but £75.
The pictures of our accommodation demonstrate quite clearly that it is an open plan room, with a separate bathroom.
We are sad to have lost a customer and sorry that you feel that you had a wasted journey.

Lovely stay
Lovely apartment, the bed is so comfy! Fresh milk in the fridge and homemade cakes on arrival, everything you need for a short stay is already stocked. Emma was lovely and helpful! 40 minute walk into town, plenty of fields and pubs. Had a great relaxing weekend away, would definitely come back.

Our postcode is SK17 6UW.
When you come down Bishops Lane, go past Nursery Lane on your left. There is a bungalow on the corner, opposite Nursery Lane. Go past that and the next house on the right. We are the house after that on the right and have a green garage door plus a lamp post at the end of the drive.
Please park on the right, after you have come through the gates at the entrance to the drive, rather than in front of the garage.
The room where you will be staying is reached via a gravel path around the right-hand side of the garage. There is a lock box outside the door with the key. The number will be provided prior to your arrival
