I live nearby to the cottage with my partner Helen in the same village. I will try to meet you when you arrive to welcome you, show you round and answer any queries you have but we don't intrude. You will have my mobile phone number so that I will be easily contactable. We want to make sure your stay great. We love the cottage and think you will too. If I can't meet you personally there is key safe access.

We came to stay while our house was being renovated, and everything we could possibly have needed was here for us and more.The host Robert was so kind and welcoming, letting us stay for longer at short notice, as the work was not finished on...More

Golcar pronounced 'Goker' (the 'L' is silent in local pronunciation) is a village located on a hillside crest above the Colne Valley in West Yorkshire. It is 3 miles away from the Huddersfield town center

In the village you will find a post office, a co-op, a traditional butchers, a bakers,gift shop, cafe, restaurant, a wine bar/pub
There are some great walks we can tell you about and lots more to enjoy!
Getting around
There are regular buses to Huddersfield Town Center. Huddersfield has a railway station as does the nearby village of Slaithwaite (Slawit to the locals)
How to get there
The cottage is only a few miles from Junction 23 (Eastbound) or Junction 24 (Westbound) from the M62 motorway. It is about 38 miles from Manchester airport and 25 miles from Leeds and Bradford airport; 3 miles to Huddersfield town Center.

Trans-pennine express trains run between Manchester, Manchester airport and Hull stopping at Huddersfield
