As a guest you have sole use of the patio, where you can relax and take in the sea views, sunbathe and enjoy a BBQ or you can light yourself a fire in fire bowl provided. There is a beautiful chunky wooden table and benches for you to enjoy outdoor dining and two reclining chairs if you fancy a snooze in the sunshine listening to the waves and the bird song. Please note there are three cats living in other flats in the building, they may ask to share the patio with you. The front door opens into a good sized open plan lounge/dining space which is well decorated to create a warm cosy feel complemented by the romance of a wood burning stove. There is a 3 seater sofa and an arm chair, along with a chunky coffee table and a Satelite TV with built in DVD player. There is also a solid oak dining table with 3 chairs. The kitchen is separated from the lounge by a worktop. There is a handy wooden blind to divide the two rooms should you wish. The kitchen is well equipped with all you should need for a relaxing stay. There is a double oven, microwave, fridge with freezer compartment and a dishwasher. Please note there is no washing machine. The large bedroom is beautifully decorated, it has a King size bed, plenty of storage and a gorgeous long window seat, which can double as a day bed. Sitting here, with the sash windows wide open whilst reading a book and listening to the waves is a must. The bathroom has a full size bath and separate shower cubicle, the bathroom has some tasteful quirky features which add to the flats overall charm. The Garden Flat is situated on a No Through Road which terminates at the beach. The building is set well back and higher up than the road. The drive slopes fairly steeply up towards the house and there are 8 wide steps with a rail leading onto the patio area. Please note there is a high curb on the public footpath at bottom of the drive, guests with vehicles with low suspension may prefer to park in the road to avoid scraping the underside of their vehicle. There are no parking restrictions on the road. The picturesque Blue Flag beach, Rotherslade Bay, with its Beach side cafe, is approximately 100m away at the end of the road and a further 5 minute walk takes you to the popular Langland Bay, with its choice of cafes and a licensed Brasserie. Both beaches offer a variety of different surf breaks and are popular with surfers all year round. The spectacular Langland Bay Golf Course is a 20 minute walk or 5 minute drive away. Guests can wander to the historic village of Mumbles in approx 15 minutes. The traditional fishing village offers an array of boutique shops, restaurants and cafes as well as being home to the spectacular Oystermouth Castle. Mumbles is often referred to as 'the gateway to Gower', the Gower Peninsular offers spectacular scenery and incredible beaches and coves. There are many attractions to visit and plenty of choice of activities locally, including water sports, archery, tennis, horse riding, gliding, fishing, assault courses, sailing, parachuting, birds of prey, bird watching, river trips, boat trips and helicopter rides. This is everything we hoped it would be. A well-appointed flat with everything we needed for a week’s break away next to the beautiful Gower coast. It’s great to be able to see the sea from the patio, and to have a picnic table out...More

Thank you for this review, we’ll certainly take your views into consideration. We find the title of this review surprising considering this couple chose to stay an additional two nights longer than they originally booked (16 nights instead of 14). The Garden Flat does not...More

About the neighbourhood
Rotherslade and Langland are both beautiful bays with lots to offer to meet many different needs. Be it coffee and a book/paper in the sun by the sea or in one of the cosy cafes with log burning stoves, ice cream and rockpools, a cold glass of wine or a beer on the terrace of the brasserie. Perhaps a blustery cliff walk to the next bay, Caswell, for another sit down in a cafe. All the local eateries serve wonderful freshly prepared food and offer a warm welcome. The local fishing village of Mumbles is a friendly place to meander. There are a variety of boutiques and independent shops, including a well stocked deli on the high street and back streets and a huge variety of cafes and restaurants to choose from. There are also local grocers, butchers and two small supermarkets, along with...
Getting around
The nearest train station is Swansea. There is a bus stop at the top of the road with regular buses into Swansea city centre and the Gower Peninsular. A car isn't essential for a holiday here, local shops are a 15 minute walk away, with a multitude of cafes and restaurants to chose from. The nearest cafe is at the bottom of the road overlooking the beach and the nearest restaurant is a brasserie overlooking Langland Bay, about 10 minutes along the coastal path. The coastal path can be joined at the bottom of the road and there are beautiful walks in both directions, to the left takes you into Mumbles via the pier and life boat station. To the right takes you to Langland, then Caswell and then on to many other Gower beaches.
