I myself don't mind to stay in that small studio apartment as many days as I want for a quietness and peaceful holiday but as for young kids it's a disaster! So if you are with young kid forget about it.

About the neighbourhood
The neighborhood is peaceful with lush gardens and is situated close to the Royal Manor and the Royal summer residence where you will feel as if being in the countryside and still only 12 minutes from the city center by ferry/bus. I recommend my guests to take a morning run around parts of the Bygdøy-peninsula, take a bath on one of the nearby beaches and barbeque while watching the boats to/from the harbor. I recommend my guests to take their children on a visit to the Royal manor, to watch the sheep, cows and horses and let them go for a ride on one of the ponies. The peninsula has many interesting museums worth visiting, all within walking distance from the house: - The Folk Museum - The Vikingship museum - The Kontiki museum - The Fram museum - The Maritime museum - The Holocaust Center
How to get there
Arriving from one of the three Oslo-airports (Gardermoen/Rygge/Torp) to the Bus terminal/the Central Station: take bus no. 30 westwards named Bygdøy, outside the main entrance of the Central Station and get off at the bus station named Folkemuseet. To get to the house you will need 2 minutes. Cross the street from the bus stop, walk straight forward, cross the street Dronninghavnveien, continue straight towards Museumsveien and when you reach the first little road to the left, this will be Mellbyedalen. No. 3 is our house. 2 minutes walk from the house to the ferry (that will take you to the City hall/Aker Brygge) 2 minutes walk to the bus stop, Folkmuseet, from where you can take the bus no. 30, bringing you to the city center/Royal Castle/Karl Johan street.
