Holiday Rental House
A seclusive private vacation home architect designed and set in a stunning otherwordly landscape. Situated along the southernmost coast of Iceland in rugged windswept terrain, the simple horizontal architecture designed by Icelandic architect Tryggvi Tryggvason is straightforward yet stylish. Inhabiting a predominantly agricultural area, this former farm has been given new life and completely transformed into a chic rural escape. With three bedrooms (one master bedroom and two smaller bedrooms) and one large bath, the house can sleep up to six guests comfortably. Quiet, tranquil and set within a stunningly beautiful location, this is one of those great escapes you remember for a lifetime. ...A seclusive private vacation home architect designed and set in a stunning otherwordly landscape. We couldn’t have asked for better. An unbelievable home/view/location. It was incredible. The huge windows were great for viewing the coast and the northern lights. We would absolutely stay again.

About the neighbourhood
There is a ten-minute walk to a black sand/pebble beach, Reynisfjara the southern most part of Iceland, where the waves are among the biggest in Europe and there is a spectacular view from the house at two glaciers, Mýrdalsjökull and Eyjafjallajökull. There is a restaurant “Black Beach Restaurant” located close to the beach, they have a nice view and are always open for lunch and also for dinner during the summer. On the south coast of Iceland there are many opportunities for mountaineering by car and foot and guided tours into the uninhabitable exciting landscape. The nearest town is Vik, a 15 minute car ride from Presthus. There is a grocery store, Liquor store, a few restaurants, swimming pool and a golf course.
Getting around
A car is Necessary and during the winter I would recommend a 4 wd vehicle. How to get there Address: Presthus 1 v/Reynisfjoruveg 871 Vik Island (Using Google maps put this in as destination: A Keflavík International Airport, Southern Peninsula, Iceland B Reynisdrangar, South, Iceland) Priest House GPS: N63°24.982´ W019°02.804´ It takes about 40 minutes to drive from Keflavík airport to Reykjavík, the capital of Iceland. From Reykjavík it is about 180 km to Priest House. From Reykjavík you head east, route 1 to Vik, it takes about 2 hour 30 minutes to Priest House.
