Holiday Rental House
La Garanne is a comfortable farmhouse located on the outskirts of a friendly village in the heart of the beautiful Dordogne. There are 2 bakeries and a decent size supermarket within 5 minutes walk, but the property is quiet as a whisper and has expansive views over the valley. The house is well set up for famillies with a cot and highchair available and there are games and books too. We are 10minutes drive to Chateau Durantie in Lanouaille, which is a popular place for weddings. Lots of our guests choose to book with us and make a holiday of attending a wedding there. Superb cycling country means you will never be lost for a new route to explore and there is golf nearby. Bikes are available at the property free of charge. We provide a welcome pack with all the essentials and are happy ...La Garanne is a comfortable farmhouse located on the outskirts of a friendly village in the heart of the beautiful Dordogne. Our property manager lives local and is on hand if you need it. The house is clean and tidy and is set up for year round living, it's not just a holiday home. The gardens have been planted out last year and the expansive lawn is great for the kids to run about or a fun game of badminton.More

We stayed at this property's newly renovated sister home next door - La Porcherie. A beautifully presented holiday retreat with all mod cons. A welcome pack was available with essential groceries and the heating was switched on ready for our arrival (it was November!). The...More

We selected La Garanne after actively searching for a a gite that would be exceptionally tranquil in a very rural setting. It fully lived up to our high hopes and expectations. The farmhouse is at the end of a (mainly) disused, stone built, large barn....More

About the neighbourhood
During the summer months there are many evening fairs where you can buy fish or meat and have it cooked for you, then choose a salad or chips and finish with a bottle of the famous regional wine and top with a dessert, all supplied by the friendly local farmers. It's a great way to meet local people and other tourists, these weekly events are very popular especially later in the evening. Payzac has a weekly fair which runs during July and August. Rouffiac lake is only 15 minutes drive away and is your local beach in the heart of the countryside. This man made beach is the perfect spot to laze away the days of your holiday. The calm water is perfect for the kids and there are walking trails, canoeing and wind surfing if you are feeling energetic.
How to get there
Ryan Air flies to Limoges from UK, and the drive from Limoges airport takes 1 hour, alternatively Bordeaux is 2.5 hrs drive and Toulouse is 3hrs drive. The drive from Paris is 5.5 hours.
