Avgonima is a medieval stone- built village in central Chios overlooking the Aegean sea, at 16 Km from Hora (capital), on the west side of the island, and at about 6 Km from Anavatos village. The name of the village, according a literary figure, derives from the local name “Avgonimata” (an area between Avgonima and Anavatos), which - in Greek - means “low - value fields”. The village has 2 restaurants and one cafe. You need to have a car or bike. Public place is free in the village. No public transportation. Τransfer from the airport 25€ port 20€.
