This fabulous house is located right under the Parthenon, literally in the shadow of Acropolis in the known historical area of Plaka. It has two bedrooms (one double bed and two single beds) and a living room (with a single sofa bed). Apart from the balcony which has a great view of Lycabetus hill and the city of Athens there is a terrace , with a surface of 30sq.m facing the Acropolis where you can relax an enjoy the view. The metro of Acropolis is less than 200m far from the house. In this area you will see all Athens' sights by walking. Anafiotika area is a very picturesque (website hidden) is also know as 'the island without a sea'.Actually it gives the impression of an island with its small white-washed houses, narrow streets and steps, stone walls and gardens full with flowers. Centraal, heerlijk dakterras, fantastisch uitzicht, relaxte wijk.
Boven verwachting.

Perfect location, beautiful views, accomodating host
My family of 4 spent three nights in Rania's apartment and we would highly recommend it. The location was ideal (walking distance to all of the major attractions) and the rooftop terrace was a real treat in the evenings. Rania met us at the apartment and gave us great dining recommendations (Park Bench was our best meal of the entire trip to Greece). She also hooked us up with Spiros, who arranged our transportation to and from the airport. If you are considering a trip to Athens, this is the place to stay.

Great location - nice set up
We stayed in the Shadow of Acropolis apartment for two nights in May as part of our family holiday - myself, my wife and two kids both age 12. The location of this place is fantastic, you step out and you are in the Plaka area right at the base of the Acropolis. Easy walking to many ancient sites and restaurants. Rania was easy to work with to book and on the lead-up to the trip, and her connections with Spiros and his company for taxi service made things very easy on the airport transfers. In fact Spiros was around if we needed any help. The apartment itself is simple but in good shape, clean and the beds were comfortable. Things were as they appear in the pictures on the TripAdvisor rental site. The view of the city is amazing and although we didn't use the rooftop patio it was a nice add, as was the little balcony. Would certainly rent this again if we head back to Athens.

Perfect Athens home base and the kindest host in the world
We could not have asked for a better home from home while we were in Athens. From the second Rania and her mother greeted us, we knew we had found the perfect spot. The apartment and beautiful upstairs terrace were comfortable, roomy, well-equipped and immaculately kept. We have stayed in many apartments and villas during our travels, and this was second to none. Best of all were the incredible kindness and hospitality of Rania at every step along the way. She met our every need (including a sudden emergency request) with grace and good humor, and she had good restaurant and sight-seeing recommendations for us. In addition, we used the taxi services of Rania's friend Spiros, who was just as friendly, accommodating and professional as she was. And of course the location is perfect for exploring all Athens has to offer. We will certainly be back. Thank you, Rania!

Absolutely perfect gem
I have traveled far and wide. I've never stayed at a place this magical. My son described it as "living in your own castle overlooking Athens". This place cannot be improved: It's modern, impeccably clean, spacious. But the real winner is the view: the living room and one bedroom overlook the city from above, the living room overlooks the Acropolis museum, the other bedroom overlooks a charming little street. The rooftop offers stunning 360 degree views of the Acropolis, the city, and the surrounding mountains. We went up time and again for coffee, breakfast, or late-night drinks. The house is seconds away (literally!) from romantic restaurants, three minutes from the museum and entrance to the Acropolis itself, but in a quiet neighborhood. It's so pretty that tourists stopped to take photos with our street and house. But at night, it was always peaceful and beautiful. Finally, the owner, Rania, was gracious and welcoming. We will never stay anywhere else in Athens.

Fantastic stay
My sister and I stayed here for three days in September at the start of our trip around Greece. The location is more perfect than we could have imagined, the Plaka is practically at your doorstep as is one of the entrance points to the acropolis, Amazing! The apartment is charming but not luxurious, with two bedrooms (Only one of the bedrooms has an a/c unit) and a shared bathroom, the kitchen has good basics for preparing any small meals. The living room has an a/c unit just over the entrance and a wonderful little balcony to have coffee on every morning and if you go up the little spiral staircase there is a wonderful rooftop balcony with an amazing view of Athens.

Greek paradice
We enjoyed our stay at Rania’s place immensely! It is in a superb location in Anafiotika, under the Acropolis and up the road from the Acropolis Museum and good Tavernas and shops. The house is really attractive with its blue shutters and very spacious and clean. The roof terrace has amazing views to Mt Lycebetus and the city. It is a perfect place to enjoy a wine or an Ouzo after a hard day’s sightseeing! Rania’s friend Spiro owns a taxi and is very helpful and obliging. He organised our collection from the airport and transported us to and from Piraeus as we had booked a ferry to take us to Aegina Island for a day, a trip we highly recommend and it’s worthwhile taking a taxi or bus as we did to Vagia beach on the other side of the island, just stunning! We met Rania on arrival and she was charming and friendly. Staying in her house was a wonderful end to our holiday - thanks again to her and to Spiro.
