The kitchen is large, contemporary and very well equipped, with 4-ring electric hob, built-in electric oven, dishwasher, double-door American style fridge/freezer, toaster, coffee maker and juicer. A breakfast table benefits from the views to the hills and ocean through the French doors that lead to the front terrace. A flat screen cable TV allows you to keep up with the news at breakfast time.
A separate barbecue room features a bread oven, traditional Madeira barbecue for grilling espetada and electric hob and sink.
The whole of the lower floor is an amazing social and leisure area. Table tennis, table football and a pool table are complemented by a variety of table games (poker, mah-jong, rummycub, and children’s games) and features an outstanding middle-east inlaid table for backgammon, chess and draughts. A seating corner with a large flat-screen TV with CD player (a variety of music is available) is served by a fully equipped bar. It leads to the steps that access the indoor pool and a visitor’s toilet.
A large office with desk and meeting table can be found off the leisure area, a great solution for those needing to deal with business whilst on holiday.
The bedrooms are all beautifully furnished; four are on the first floor (three with en-suite bathrooms) along with a family shower room. The Master bedroom is very spacious and features a dressing area and en-suite bathroom with whirlpool bath and walk-in shower. Both this and the second bedroom have private balconies with those superb views.
The fifth bedroom is on the ground floor, suitable for those with limited mobility.
All beds are Carpe Diem king-sized doubles with conjoined single mattresses, guaranteeing the greatest comfort.
The heated pool is nothing short of spectacular. Very large at 8,5m X 5,5m it is an interior pool with large glass panes that open up to the garden and view, perfect for both summer and winter, surrounded by easy chairs and sunbeds. There are changing/shower rooms and toilet facilities available.
For those that want to keep up their fitness regime, there is a bicycle, treadmill and cross-walker on a mezzanine overlooking the pool.
Sunbeds are provided for the garden and front terrace.
The south-facing front terrace is perched overlooking the town and ocean, and is partially covered, allowing the choice of catching the sun or keeping in the shade, whilst appreciating those gorgeous views, perfect for watching the cruise ships arrive and depart and for the June and New Years Eve firework displays. Garden furniture includes sun-beds, and two large dining tables with a capacity for 12 people, perfect for alfresco family meals, and tables and chairs for reading or for those sunset evening cocktails.
A separate laundry features a washing machine and tumble dryer, iron and ironing board
Wi-Fi is available throughout the house and the also in swimming pool area.
Although not essential, as in most villas, a hire car is recommended.
There is secure car parking for two cars.
Booking notes
The advertised prices are based on a 6-person occupancy and supplements apply should additional people join you for any length of time.
A security deposit of 500€ is required by credit card up to 48h before your check-in. This is returned should there be no breakages or damage to the property.
To secure your reservation, a deposit of 30% is required, or the full amount if within 8 weeks or arrival, and the balance is due 8 weeks prior to arrival. Should you cancel up to 8 weeks prior to arrival only the deposit is non-refundable, and whitin this period the full amount.

WOW Villa Luzia is absolutely FABULOUS and, as it says in the heading, ‘The Height of Luxury’
We stayed as a family of 3 generations and loved that there was plenty of room to spread out and enjoy the beautiful lounge, gardens and terrace. We all, especially the kids, loved the games room and indoor pool.
There is everything you could possibly need to self cater, which we made the most of. Everyone loved the Carpe Diem beds, too as it was like sleeping on a cloud.
Just 15 minutes walk downhill to the centre of Funchal (taxi back ;) although there are buses too, but we never got the timing right!
Perfect house for a family or group get together, you cannot fail to be impressed.

Whatever you do make sure you pick this stunning villa. We loved it. Spotlessly clean. We can't wait to go back. There was everything there that you needed or wanted. Lovely welcome pack too. Plenty of room for eight of us and still space to chill on our own. Very safe and secure too.

Beautiful Villa, Large, Comfortable and Well Equipped
We stayed in Villa Luzia for a week in January. It is a beautiful villa, large, comfortable and well equipped. The private indoor pool is amazing and also the very large games room with table tennis, pool and table football. For a family group with mixed ages, everyone was happy! Plenty of secure parking space and lovely grounds and patio looking out towards the sea. We tended to take the car most places but, if you are fit, you can walk down to the shops/sea/cable car and back. We would recommend this villa.

Just Wow
The villa is just beautiful, the pool, the views, the space…..all just fantastic. We went as a group of 8 (2 families) loads of room for everyone. The games room downstairs is huge and well equipped, we had great fun playing pool, table tennis etc. The team at Our Madeira were great, sorted out transfers (very reasonably priced), made some great restaurant recommendations, and we’re always quick to respond to any questions. Wound definitely recommend both the villa and Our Madeira as a booking agent

The height of opulence!
Oh my goodness, where does one start? This villa is truly exceptional and caters for every possible need. Suitable for a large family gathering, one could never be bored, given the large games room and indoor swimming pool. Bathed in sunshine most of the day, we spent almost the whole time outdoors and ate outside on the days that we didn't go to a restaurant. Very clean and comfortable throughout; convenient for the centre of Funchal (an easy stroll downhill) and taxi back, for all of €6. For anyone who doesn't know Madeira - go! There is so much to do and unbelievable value for money. We hope to return to Villa Luzia.

Outrageous luxury and location
Its difficult not exaggerate the superlatives here. The house offers beautifully decorated spaces for anything from a relaxed pool party to a formal evening. Very private suites/bedrooms with the best beds imaginable beds, and private balconies. Stunning views of the bay of Funchal from floor level and all bedrooms. Huge games room with billiards, table tennis, etc. One of the few indoor pools of Madeira with direct underground access from the main house, allowing comfortable usage year-round. Walking distance from the center, and a good distance from the busy tourist areas.

A magical experience!
The Villa Luzia was truly amazing. Our party settled in and thoroughly enjoyed all the amenities of the Villa. Looking forward to returning again in June 2020 and hopefully, again in 2021.

Nice spacious house
This villa is a bit away from city center´s traffic noises but still close to everything. Enough room also for bigger group.

as luxurious as advertised with everything we needed
a stunning villa with spectacular views over the town and harbour that had every facility you could need.The pool house being the standout feature .A pity there were no shops near but the town main town is only 15 mins walk away and a 6 euro taxi fide will get you and your shopping back up the steep hill.The bus stop is only a few steps away and the bus ride to the top is an experience on its own. The Monte palace gardens are not to be missed or sitting in a harbour side bar to watch a cruise ship dock. For the more adventurous there are great levada walks and trips through the hills to the north of the island. Maybe a little too well furnished for any but the very best behaved children to be let loose in.

Perfect place, for perfect vacation
I spent 7 nights in this amasing place with my relatives. This was the best place I have ever been-the location, interior, the garden, the pool and etc. Everything was perfect.
