A beautiful comfortable open space, located on the ground floor of the main house, connecting directly to the gardens...totally equipped, with wifi, pool, washing machine,hair dryer, barbecue, etc, enjoys a fantastic view over the city and harbor.The location is great, in a walking distance from Funchal center. Parking is very easy, by the gate, or the bus stop is just there for the local buses...
This beautiful studio, shares the place with another apartments, but keeping all the privacy you expect on a holiday.
Privacy and quietness, are the main thing we want to preserve in this house, not having the feel of staying in a Hotel, but a trully 'Home to Home'... .

Purple Studio
Purple Studios are lovely. The views were breathtaking. The gardens were well kept by a cheerful chap. The flora was lovely. The accommodation was more than adequate. The owners have worked so hard to make our stay so perfect.

Relaxing, tranquil place within the city
The apartment is part of an old house surrounded by gardens. We really liked the sense of peace and tranquility when we came through the gate into the walled surroundings of Quinta Esperança, especially after the noise of Carnival! We easily walked down to the centre of Funchal and either walked back up the hill or took a taxi depending on our mood ( 5 or 6 Euros). There were plenty of restaurants to choose from in the Velha Verde which we thought were good value. The bakery and little shop around the corner were very handy, the bread and cakes were lovely. We liked the rooftop area to relax and enjoy the view of the town below us with maybe a glass of wine. We did not hire a car but there was plenty of parking opposite the gates. We will certainly visit Madeira again and will stay here again without hesitation.

Lovely traditional house with great views
This place is exceptional. Part of a traditional old house with lovely gardens. The views are lovely. Very friendly, cannot do enough to make you welcome.

Excellent accomodation & location
We stayed 6 nights in this lovely, spacious studio which is part of a large, lovingly restored Quinta. The studio is well equipped & very clean. It has great outdoor seating space directly infront of it and you're free to use & enjoy other parts of the very large, beautifully kept garden & swimming pool. For us, it felt like a very special place because of the lovely garden areas and the location which provided great views around Funchal. The whole place is beautifully cared for by Helena & Roberto and their cleaner & gardener. The location is a 5 minute walk downhill to the old town area of Funchal and a 10 minute walk back up up, but if you don't fancy walking, it's easily reached by bus (No 31 & 31A) from the town centre which stops right outside the Quinta en route to the Botanical Gardens at the top of the hill.

Home from home with a great host!
Small but very comfortable apartment. Walking distance from Funchal old town. Bus trip back up if you need! Visited for the flower festival which was something great to see. Helena and Roberto are great hosts with lots of contacts to help with trips, car hire etc. Lots of little nice touches. Beautiful gardens which will be even better in a few years when fully renovated.

Superb location with wonderful views
Our apartment had everything we could want. It was comfortable and well equipped. We loved the views and the surrounding gardens including the pool were magnificent. We were very well looked after.

Beautiful location.
The Quinta was faultless, plenty to do in Funchal. Helena and Roberta gave us a very warm welcome. Would definitely return sometime in the future.

Super Holiday!
We had a great relaxing holiday. The location and views were fantastic. Owners Helena and Roberto were welcoming and helpful. Would definitely recommend to others and we will be back!

Os segredos devem ser mantidos como segredos
Depois de um voo terrivel a uma notavel noite no aeroporto de Lisboa, finalmente chegua de alguna forma na Quito Esperanza. Obrigada Sr. Alves pelo passeio notavel do seu aeroporte muito interessante para a Quita. Estrada agradavel com muitas curves! Obrigada Helena e Roberto pela recepao calorosa. Eu me senti muito em casa, quanto entrei na Quinta. O lindo jardim e a piscina eram quase seimpre meus - ninguem la. A pastelleria e o supermercado ao lada dele se tornaram meus favores absolutos. O unico critico e o vinhoMadeira que realmente me derruboa um final da tarda - mas foi minha culpa. E seus caminhos - nao e necessario mais ginastica necessaria!
De qualquer forma - este lugar e um verdodeiro refugio e espera que fique por muito tempo.
Obrigada TAP tampien por me levar para FRA sem problemas e de acordo com o cronograma and the sparkling wine.
