Penthose apartment, situated in Funchal, by Formosa beach, in a peaceful location with an amazing view to the Atlantic Ocean. With very spacious areas (170 m2), private balcony/terrace and private rooftop terrace with the best view of the building.
This apartment is situated in an aparthotel complex with swimming pool, direct access to the beach and reception desk 24h/day. To profit the mild climate of Madeira island, you can enjoy the sun and the sea view relaxing at the sun chairs at the apartment terrace or choose to take a swim in the swimming pool or in the sea. With the advantage of having everything you need at a walking distance, you have also nearby a coffee shop and local fish restaurants just 2 minutes walking.

Wonderful apartment and great host
Excellent penthouse with stunning views and the ocean splashing right under your balcony.
It has all the conveniences you'll need. Functional kitchen, spacious rooms, good bathrooms and feels homely.
Our favorite part was the large balcony and the spacious rooftop terrace. Even if it's windy you can find a nice sheltered spot somewhere.
Lovely location right next to a black beach with mixed sand and pebbels. If the sea was to rough, we used the nice pool at the premesis. A short steep walk to buses, bakery, greengrocer and restaurants. And a really great local seafood restaurant right outside the door.
Nyara was a really fantastic host both before and during our stay. She answered every inquiry very quickly and mailed us usefull information before we arrived. On arrival she was most helpful and gave us good advise about allmost everything, restaurants, bars, buses, shopping, tours. She has great knowledge of the island and are most willing to share it.
We would love to come back and stay again another time.
Btw...Nyaras husband does jeeptous. We can highly recomend that as well.

SUPERBES VACANCES
Superbe appartement bien situé. La vue mer est à couper le souffle sans oublier le bruit des vagues...et que dire des sublimes coucher de soleil.
Nyara vous donnera toutes les informations nécessaires au bon déroulement de votre séjour, c'est une personne dévouée et aimant son ile.
Que dire également de la sortie en Jeep UMM que son mari Miguel propose..
Un moment vraiment inoubliable, intimiste et loin des sentiers battus que propose les concurrents pour ce type d'excursion.
Arrêt dans des endroits insolites et découverte de la Poncha Maracuja que nous adorons..et pour ma part de la Nikita, merci Miguel pour cette découverte :)
Vous ne le regretterez pas, essayez la sortie en 4x4 et laissez vous guider :)
Miguel pourra également vous diriger pour une superbe sortie en bateau afin de voir les tortues et dauphins.

An excellent apartment
This was the seventh time we had stayed in Madeira and this apartment was definitely the best. It is very convenient for touring the island with a car and is clean and well-equipped. It is lovely relaxing on the roof.

Large apartment, very nice swimming pool, great seaview.
The apartment is very large, we enjoyed the swimming pool. In the neighbourhood you can find some nice restaurants, you can reach the city-centre easily by bus.

The apartment was exactly as described on the website. Niara was so helpful in sorting the taxi transfers recommending and in some cases booking excellent restaurants where the locals eat and also places to visit. Nothing was a trouble for her. The apartment was spotlessly clean and very well appointed. We spent a wonderful day with Miguel Niara's husband and his jeep exploring off the tourist trail. We really did see and learn such a lot that day and Miguel was great company. Both Niara and Miguel love Madeira and they work so hard to ensure their guests will love Madeira too. If we return to Madeira we would not hesitate to return to the apartment and have a day with Miguel and his jeep.

Wonderful! We have already booked to return!
The apartment is quiet and comfortable with the most amazing sea views. There is everything you need to self cater or take Niara's recommendations for nearby restaurants - especially 'The Beer Garden'. Amazing food and lovely people. Try the Picadinho and Poncha for a perfect night!
Another absolute must is a 'Miguel Jeep Tour'!! Go for the full day tour and be prepared for a day of fun and laughter! Miguel is a superb tour guide!
Niara was so welcoming and helpful and always responded immediately to emails and messages. It made everything so easy and stress free.
Niara and Miguel are the perfect hosts. 5 Star Holiday! We can't wait to return!

'Wow what a wonderful view'
Fantastic location, away from the busy touristy areas, but still an excellent base for sightseeing.
First impression of this well-equipped apartment was 'Wow what a wonderful view'.
The floor to ceiling, wall to wall windows in both the lounge and the master bedroom gave uninterrupted views of the Atlantic Ocean. The view never ceased to impress during our 3 weeks stay.
The apartment is extremely comfortable and well furnished. The kitchen is more than adequately equipped for preparing and cooking meals. The large balcony and the roof terrace both have comfortable sun loungers which we took advantage of most days.
There are several local restaurants, within a 5-10 minute walk along the seafront in the direction of Camara de Lobos. In the other direction from the apartment, a short walk along the beach and through the pedestrian tunnel there are more restaurants. Also Camara de Lobos has many local bars and restaurants and is a pleasant walk (approx. 30 minutes). However, if you want to venture further afield there is a good bus service. The bus stop is on the main road which can be reached via steps close to the apartment.
Near the bus stop there is a fruit and vegetable shop which also sells milk and a few other provisions including wine and beer, a shop selling fresh bread and a couple of bars / coffee shops (a beer is greatly appreciated after the walk up the steps)! Also a bigger supermarket is not far.
In the evening, we enjoyed sitting on the balcony with a 'sun downer' watching the fishermen go out and listening to the sound of the waves lapping on the beach - no other sound could be heard - perfect!
We had a wonderful relaxing holiday made even better by Niara, she was a fabulous host, she was very helpful and friendly and gave us lots of advice. She also arranged for us to spend a wonderful day with her husband Miguel on one of his jeep tours - not to be missed. He was an excellent guide with a terrific sense of humour. They are a lovely couple, and both wanted to make our stay enjoyable. We look forward to a return visit.

Another great stay!
We have been coming to this apartment regularly since 2013 and we continue to enjoy the amazing position that the apartment offers.
Unfortunately, just prior to our stay, bad weather had done considerable damage to the promenade but, as usual, we were blessed with 3 weeks of lovely weather to help us enjoy our stay.
Nyara, as always, was here to welcome us and look after our every need and the apartment itself is so spacious, clean and comfortable. It is difficult to imagine a more perfect view of the sea from the extremely large balcony.
The sun can be enjoyed from very early on using the rooftop terrace, then in the afternoon on the balcony right through to the beautiful sunset.
All the facilities and equipment are available for those who wish to eat in the apartment but for those who wish to dine out, there are many excellent local restaurants.
There are lovely flat walks along the coast to Camara de Lobos.

About the neighbourhood
Unique location, by Formosa beach.
Very quiet location with nice restaurants and bars just nearby.
The apartment is situated in a beach resort with direct access to the beach, with the advantage of being by the sea - more close is impossible - in a very tranquil area).
Getting around
Just nearby you have coffee shops and restaurants with esplanades by the sea. Just in front of the apartment you have the Formosa beach and from here you can walk to Lido area (with natural swimming pools and a walking path along the sea with more coffee shops and restaurants along the way) or, to the other side, you can walk until Câmara de Lobos, a fishermen village (good to eat fresh fish) just 2,2 Km far along the beach. The city centre is only 10 minutes by car from the apartment and about 15 minutes by bus (there is a bus stop just on the upper road - the main road called "Estrada Monumental" - where the bus stop is situated). There is a new bus passing by each 15 minutes.

How to get there
Transport from the airport to the apartment is possible by Aerobus (EUR 5 per person per way or EUR 8 with return trip) or by taxi (I can recommend a taxi driver that makes the special price for my guests, for waiting for you in the airport and bring you directly to the apartment where I will be waiting for you).
There is also the possibility of renting a car from the airport.
