As a base for the Lisbon region, you could not ask for more. Beautiful Sintra just 15 minutes away, Lisbon city centre 50 minutes away. Many beautiful beaches in the area - Magoito beach just 5 minutes drive.
The village is small and spread out but peaceful and quiet - the house is in a fabulous location to relax and unwind.
The house is extremely nice. 5 bedrooms - lots of space internally (quite deceptive from outside). Very well equipped with TV, full dining room and all you could need in the kitchen. On top of this a beautiful patio area with full brick barbeque and 2nd kitchen area in the garage.
The hosts (Cristina & Carlos) were fantastic from booking (initial contact almost 3 years earlier - Covid!!). We were greeted on arrival and given full tour of house plus advice on local restaurants and the general area.
A truly great experience. So much to see and do in the region - we simply ran out of time!

Amazing place to stay!
What can I say. Clean, comfortable, all the amenities. We barbecued, had fires in the fireplace and enjoyed a beautiful garden. Wonderful pizza restaurant nearby and only a few minutes from a supermarket. Carlos and Cristina were helpful even providing a binder with suggestions for dining and touring. Would not hesitate to book again.

Perfect retreat for the (big) family: very well maintained and complete home
This place is awesome:
I have been to many cottages in Portugal and around the world. This one is by far the best one: The hosts (Tina & Carlos) really care about you, your family and the house. Everything is arranged thoughtfully and complete. The house was completely renovated in 2014, so:
DO NOT TRUST Google Streetview! Google shows outdated views. Have a look at the pictures I uploaded: The outside is new and tasteful. The garden is actually an "outdoor living room" with perfect lawn, clean tiles and useful and comfortable garden furniture.
And the rooms are all decorated and equipped with taste and a sense for usability. The house offers beds (and dishes, kitchenware etc) for 8 to 10 people. We were only 5 (adults), but we could imagine to have many more children around. There are 2 bathrooms: a big one on ground floor and a smaller one upstairs. This (upstairs) bathroom is bit tight and has a low ceiling if you are really tall (as my sons, both 1,90m (6'3")), but even this is doable.
The best part of the house is the engagement of the two hosts: Tina and Carlos do everything to make your stay unforgettable and completely convenient. And usually they do so "unseen" like elfs. Amazing. (btw: both speak English very well (Carlos) or fluently (Tina))
Summary: Don't trust Google (treetview), trust me. And rent this place for any kind of vacation of up to 10 people of all ages! Highly recommended!!

Just a perfect place!!!
Carlos and his wife were really great hosts. Very helpful and available.
There was a lot of documentation about the places to see nearby the house.
The house is just perfect to relax and have great vacation. There is enough place for everyone... Families with children or just friends. You can enjoy the second kitchen outside with a BBQ.
And it's also really safe for the children, with a quiet neighborhood.
I can only recommend the CASA da MONSERVIA to everyone who want to enjoy Sintra and his natural reserve or Eiriceira and the surf coast.
I will definitively go back there again next time in Portugal...
