Lovely apartment but be aware very noisy location !
We have just returned from a 5 night stay at this apartment.Firstly I want to say that Chiado apartment company were very helpful with our booking and very prompt when emailing ,they arranged taxi transfers to and from the airport at our request for a reasonable cost .The taxi driver was a lovely man,(he was waiting at arrivals with a board with our name on ) he telephoned Luis to advise that we had arrived which meant Luis was waiting to show us around the apartment when we arrived .The same driver picked us up at the end of our stay which was nice . The apartment is spacious with lovely floor to ceiling windows ,views on one side to the castle and to the river on the other . Everything was clean and there was tea and coffee for our arrival and they supplied some dishwasher tablets ,tea towel and washing up liquid for our stay .All handy bits when you are only staying a few nights . There is also a washing machine and dryer and airer should you need it . The location of the apartment is very good and very central .I do feel I need to mention though that there is a Delirium cafe/bar 2 floors below the apartment .We did not know this when we booked and there was a lot of noise /loud music coming from this venue until 1am and 2am at weekends .Also the entrance is right below the bedroom at the side of the building so when people were outside smoking/arriving and leaving , it was disturbing at night . The area in general is quite noisy all the time which is ok in the day but can be a problem at night . I was glad I had taken my ear plugs !! . At the end of our stay we were able to leave our luggage at some other apartments they have just around the corner which was useful as we had an evening flight .

Super spacious apartment in the heart of Lisbon!
My husband and I stayed in the Nova Almado 5D apartment in May. The apartment is very large and comfortable. There are several sofas in the living/ dining area and a good size dining room table. The kitchen has everything you need to make some of your own meals. The bed is large and comfortable. The bathroom and closet area off the bedroom have plenty of space for your items. It was very nice to have a washer, dryer, iron and ironing board! Having an extra bathroom was convenient, too! We did not hear any noise the 4 nights we were in the apartment. The check in was easy and the friendly man who checked us in gave us an excellent orientation and overview. The apt is right at the base of the Baxia Chiado Metro line and within walking distance of all the sites. It is a perfect spot! I would def. stay here again.

Huge
All the guff of where the apartment is located is 100% correct, and simply put, its the main selling point as far as I am concerned. We arranged a pick up from airport and at apartment the agent was waiting for us when we arrived....all very easy and painless. We are always happy to pay few extra euros for a bit of luxury travel and to save any confusion on arrival. But if you want to get to appartment from airport on your own, then a taxi will cost approx 15 euros....I know, sounds cheap, but seriousley these guys must be the cheapest in Europe. Arrival at the appartment, we were pleasantly surprised by size and open outlook .No way it could be classed 5 star deluxe, but its not a doss house either. I would call it a lived in home from home, got the required utensils, was clean, reasonably comfortable furnishings and a couple of loos is a plus. The agent went through all domestic issues and left us to enjoy our holiday. If we had any problems she left her number and all in all,we were more than happy with our stay. Yes, we did hear some mechanical sounds, hear some lively late street noise, even some planes flew a tad low...but this is city living, and as I said earlier, thats the trade off for having everything you need on yourdoor step. Looking forward to next trip, and may bring a couple of the grandkids....certainy plenty of room for them at 5D.

Fantastic apartment, fantastic view
Fabulous location, view, and apartment Paulo and Sylvia have a lovely well-organized and attractive apartment. It was very spacious and well appointed. The view of the harbor and the neighborhood was fantastic. The seven floor to ceiling windows let in air and light in addition to revealing the view. Our first evening we listened to Fado music from the balcony. What a welcome.! Paulo answered our questions before the trip immediately and arranged limo/driver services for us for several trips. Sylvia was very helpful in assisting with a medical problem and immediately responded when we asked for a couple of small additional items for the kitchen. We recommended this apartment with no reservations.

Beautiful, spacious apartment in perfect location!
The pictures don't do justice to how huge this apartment really is. A 5th floor corner unit surrounded by balconies and windows on all sides, the apartment is light, immaculate and uncluttered. The double doors and wooden shutters keep things quiet at night, even though the location is as central as it gets, just a couple of blocks from Rossio Square. The building and apartment are well-appointed, with spacious elevators, easy-to-use dishwasher, range and oven, and clothes washer and dryer. The unit has full A/C, and lots of nice extras. (I loved our dressing room!) Chiado Apartments staff were exemplary, arranging rides to and from the airport and responding to questions immediately. I would stay here again, and recommend it to anyone visiting beautiful Lisbon!

Convenient and comfortable
We stayed in this apartment for 5 days while we explored Lisbon and environs. The place couldn't have been better situated for us as it was close to public transportation, restaurants and stores. We had beautiful views from the 5th floor and though there was noise from the street at night we were far enough away that it wasn't a bother. The apartment has comfortable sofas and large bed, a decent kitchen and shower/bath. Luis was terrific to deal with.

Great location but intolerable noise
We booked Apartment 5D on 81 Rua Nova do Almada for 8 nights in May 2016. The apartment is on the top floor and so is another privately owned apartment. The apartment is large, bright and airy but spartanly decorated. The entryway could use a bench or hooks to hang coats. The walls could use a few more pictures. The kitchen is nice but not very well equipped: no hot pads, cheap cooking utensils, a used sponge, only one kitchen towel, one extra tiny garbage bag, etc. The bedroom was very large and the bed very comfortable. There are two bathrooms, which are also nice. Be careful of the hot water, it is extremely hot! While this is a great location -- we walked just about everywhere we wanted to go in Lisbon -- it's also a very noisy location. First of all, the mechanicals of the building were underneath us and sounded like someone was running a gigantic vacuum cleaner. The noise starts at 8 a.m. and ends around 8 p.m. The staff did try and address this and did muffle the sound a bit, which we were very grateful for. Then there was the external noise. Let me preface this by saying that we lived in a noisy neighborhood in New York City for five years, so we're very used to city noise. Unfortunately this apartment is on a narrow one-way street with a sharp incline, so as cars drive up the street, they gun their engines. Traffic noise continues well past midnight. The garbage truck stops below every night at around 12:40 a.m. Alongside the apartment building is a long wide stairway that connects another upper street to this one. A restaurant has their outdoor seating on the halfway landing of these stairs. Thankfully the restaurant shuts down its outdoor seating around 9:30 p.m. Throughout the night people, mostly drunk, walk up and down these stairs. One night a group of ten people were out there for almost an hour yelling and singing until 2 a.m. Another night the people in the apartment adjacent to ours had a party until 3 a.m. Three nights in a row, we had to endure loud music and drunken bar games from an apartment across the street. They had their windows open. Every night we closed the large doors but this apartment is NOT SOUNDPROOF AT ALL. We complained about the neighbor's late night party to the rental company who suggested we were mistaken about where the noise came from and told us that we should have called the police. Not helpful. First of all, it's unpleasant to have the rental people tell you you're wrong about where the noise was coming from. We heard them come up in the elevator. They woke us up. And then we listened to them party for the next three hours. Needless to say, we got very little sleep and one night we were so upset that we almost packed up and moved elsewhere. I really wish someone else had warned us of the noise, which is why I'm doing so now. Perhaps their apartments on the other street are better and soundproofed. Do not stay here. Even with earplugs and a sound machine, we couldn't block out the incessant noise. If you're a night owl and a partier, you might be fine here -- although the sign on the apartment door says that YOU have to be quiet and respect your neighbors, otherwise you'll be asked to leave!!! How ironic. And by the way, the rental company never contacted us again after saying they were going to email the neighbor to ask about the noise. That was totally unacceptable. Needless to say, we were never more happy to LEAVE a place than when we left apartment 5D. It was one of the worst places we've ever stayed.

Spacious, light-filled apartment in a superb location
This apartment was everything we could have wished for--and then some. Spacious, light-filled with wonderful views, well-equipped, spotlessly clean, and comfortable. Our hosts gave us the warmest of welcomes and made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. The central location was excellent for everything we chose to do.

Perfect Chiado apartment!
This a wonderful apartment, light-filled and spacious with many balconies and views in all of the rooms. The location is excellent, very convenient to access almost everything of tourist interest in Lisbon and close to many wonderful restaurants. It has been an absolute pleasure dealing with the staff--Silvia, Andreia and Luis have all been very warm, helpful and professional and have made sure everything worked smoothly from the Door to Door Shuttle pickup at the airport to a 3:30 am airport transfer from the apartment. I can't imagine finding a better place to stay in Lisbon!!!!

Spacious centrally- located top floor apartment with great views
We have been travelling for several weeks in London and Europe and this is the best apartment and service yet. Huge well-appointed apartment with river, street and castle views on 2 sides. The team were helpful and we had pre book in luggage storage, restaurant tips and help in locating a doctor. Follow up on any queries was quick and gracious.
