Went here for a do nothing holiday and had never been to Portugal before.
Great well kept villa on the outskirts of Armacao de Pera about 40 mins west of Faro between Faro and Lagoa.
Really quiet and surrounded on 3 sides by vines, flowers and bushes so quite secluded.
Lovely pool which was used a lot as temperatures hit 35C at times, plenty of car parking space outside.
Owner lives on the small estate cross the road and dropped by with clean towels whilst there.
Pictures on this site do it justice, its been modernised extensively and there are aircon units in 3 locations throughout the place.
Really enjoyed getting up early and meeting the sunrise with a nice coffee on the tiled seating by the pool.
All mod cons, I think we were the first to use the oven, smelt new as we used it.
You will need a car if you stay here, Supermarket 5 mins drive, right off 2nd roundabout and left at school then up the hill
Beach is amazing really long and sandy little used. Left at first roundabout and take a left at split in town, you can park anywhere along this road before the boat roundabout.
Ate at most of the places listed on trip advisor and went to slip and slide waterpark near Lagoa. reviews will be left shortly.
Went out just around the time of all the news about bogus villas, had a few issues getting hold of the owner and making deposit payment but we needn't have worried, the place exists, is genuine and the owners will not expect full payment until several days after you arrive.
Although get in time is 4pm and leave is 10am its worth asking if there is latitude as we got an extension to 12 without a problem.
Also suggest you take a satnav with you, we arrived at night at it was a godsend as took it to the door, you will need to use longitude and latitude to get you there owners can give you that info if required.
