Podere Zollaio is a small agriturismo, (literally meaning farm holiday), located on the outskirts of Vinci, birthplace of Leonardo, with beautiful views over Vinci village and the surrounding countryside. The Archi apartment is ideal for couples and young families looking for accommodation in a tranquil setting to relax and to explore Tuscany. We are ideally based to visit the main cities of art. We have a swimming pool, a patio with 'al fresco' dining facilities and garden for our guests to enjoy. For our younger guests we have a swing, a sand pit and a lot of space to run around. For animal lovers we have 9 cats, 3 donkeys (Camilla, Viola and Gino)and a goat (Daisy) The Archi apartment is a 45 m² open plan studio with a well equipped kitchen, 2 shower rooms, a double bed, lounge area wit...Podere Zollaio is a small agriturismo, (literally meaning farm holiday), located on the outskirts of Vinci, birthplace of Leonardo, with beautiful views over Vinci village and the surrounding countryside. I stayed here with my mother and daughter. Chiara was very welcoming and helpful, arranging advance booking for Florence. The apartment has a wonderful view of Vinci. I would recommend this as a great base for exploring Tuscany.

About the neighbourhood
Vinci, birthplace of Leonardo, is a small village on a hilltop surrounded by vineyeards and olive groves. It sits just below the Montalbano hill that used to be the hunting reserve of the Medici family. It has a museum dedicated the life, studies and works of Leonardo and the Da Vinci family home which has been recently refurbished and hosts an exibition of digital reproductions of Leonardo's most famous paintings. Vinci is the perfect base to visit all the main cities of art: Florence, Pisa, Siena and Lucca are easy to reach either by car or by train. San Gimignano, Volterra, Certaldo and Montecatini will also offer alternative itineraries for you to explore. If you appreciate the finer things in life this area of Tuscany has to offer delicious specialities throughout the year: extra v...
Getting around
You can reach most destinations by car. We highly recommend to visit Florence by train from Empoli. The journey takes about 30 minutes and the train takes you right in the heart of Florence. Can use the train to reach Siena and Pisa too.
