The kitchen is equipped with a refrigerator, oven, stove, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, cutlery and crockery for six people. A table with four chairs completes the kitchen. The house is equipped with an air-conditioning system only in the bedroom. Both living room and kitchen windows overlook Via del Governo Vecchio. Parking: In the vicinity of the apartment you can park for free in the presence of white stripes, or against payment in case of blue stripes only when the ZTL (limited area to traffic) timetable permits the entrance to the area of the municipality of Rome, from 18:00 to 23:00 from Monday to Friday, 06:30 to 14:00 on Saturdays and Sundays all day unless changes for extraordinary reasons have been applied. Public transport - St. Peter's Square: 20 minutes on foot (1.7km) - Colosseum: 30 minutes on foot (2.3km) - Metro line B, stop Colosseum: 30 minutes on foot (2.3km) - Metro line A, stop Ottaviano: 28 minutes on foot (1.7km) Area The apartment is located in the central area of Piazza Navona / Campo dei Fiori. Via del Governo Vecchio is in the neighbourhood Parione, the sixth of Rome, indicated with R. VI. The name derives from the presence in the neighborhood of an ancient wall of enormous dimensions, perhaps belonging to the stadium of Domitian. The surviving wall was leaning against a medieval tower, remembered as the 'Torre de Campo Parione': it was near the Circus Agonale, in the short stretch between St. Thomas in Parione and Piazza Pasquino. The neighbourhood boasts two of the most famous squares of Rome: Piazza Navona, the scene of legendary parties in an incomparable Baroque setting, and Campo de’ Fiori that symbolizes tradesmenship, recognized in all the small streets that cross Piazza Campo de’ Fiori, like Via dei Cappellari, via dei Chiavari, Via dei Baulari, of Canestrari, of Leutari and Librari. Every morning the Rione wakes up at dawn with the famous market at Campo de 'Fiori, noisy and colorful, the most famous of the markets in Rome, also mentioned in the film with Anna Magnani and Aldo Fabrizi. Piazza Navona is one of the most beautiful squares in the world, founded as a stage and then became a real square, known as one of the symbols of Rome and known as one of the most striking examples of contention between Gian Lorenzo Bernini and Francesco Borromini. Do not miss Via del Pellegrino with its shops and its inns, Piazza Pasquino with the talking statue of the same name and Via del Governo Vecchio (a curiosity consists of what is considered the smallest house in Rome, located at number 66 and formed from a single floor and a single window overlooked by a terrace). Also Piazza dell'Orologio is worth a visit: its name comes from the clock on the tower of the Philippine convent, built by Borromini in 1648. Under the dial of the clock there is a beautiful mosaic designed by Pietro da Cortona representing the 'Madonna della Vallicella'. In this area there is also the wonderful Piazza della Chiesa Nuova: on one of its sides is located the church of Santa Maria in Vallicella and the Oratorio dei Filippini, designed by Francesco Borromini as well as the Vallicelliana Library. In the square there is also the fountain of Terrina, originally placed in the centre of Campo de' Fiori and then removed in 1899 to place the monument dedicated to Giordano Bruno. To eat one of Rome's best pizza we recommend 'Il Baffetto Pizzeria', a typical local place located in Via del Governo Vecchio, and there is also La Montecarlo and many other places to eat or spend a relaxing time. Monuments to visit: - Santa Maria in Vallicella, or New Church - Palazzo Pamphili in Piazza Navona - Fountain of the Four Rivers - St. Agnes in Agony - Palace of the Chancellery - Oratorio dei Filippini - Palazzo Massimo alle Colonne - Palazzo Massimo Istoria - Palazzo Orsini Pio Righetti - Basilica of San Lorenzo in Damaso - Palazzo Braschi Additional amenities: Full Kitchen, SofabedMore
