About the neighbourhood
“My cosy apartment in Rome” is located in the Monteverde district within the neighbourhood Gianicolense. The neighbourhood is named after the Janiculum hill and is rich in history being next to the ancient city of Rome. The heroic resistance of the first Roman Republic took place on the Janiculum hill in 1848. Upon this hill there is a suggestive terrace from which you can enjoy the view of the city and of the St. Peter dome.A large supermarket is located at 50 m and is open 24/7, while nearby you will find plenty of restaurants and cafés, artisanal ice creams and pastry shops, clothing shops, banks, pharmacies, and hairdressers.
Getting around
There are several lines of public transport at walking distance: the line 44 connects directly to the city centre (Piazza Venezia), while the line 31 reaches the area of the Vatican Museums on the one direction and the EUR district and the subway station Magliana on the other direction. The lines 31, 33 and 44 bring in few stops to the line 8 (tram) that reaches the railway station of Roma Trastevere (train connection to/from the Rome Fiumicino airport), the heart of Trastevere and the city centre (Piazza Venezia).
