Santa Cruz de La Palma, is the capital city of the island. It was founded in the 16th century and the architecture of that time has remained until our days. The main street 'Calle Real', the square 'plaza de España', the church 'Iglesia del Salvador', the monasteries 'Convento de San Francisco', and 'Convento de Santo Domingo' and the town hall are only a few examples of the rich and beautiful architecture that defines this town. The apartment is located in Avenida del Puente, a street that connects the magnificent black sand beach with the basaltic rock which surrounds the city. Santa Cruz de la Palma is full of life, services and excellent but also affordable restaurants.
It is easy to get through Santa Cruz de La Palma by foot. The beach is only about 600m away from the house (it can be a steep hill for some people, though). Nevertheless, in order to experience the island in full, a rental car is highly recommended.
