CONSTRUCTION SITE/BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE/REFUSED TO REFUND APARTMENT NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE POOL & BALCONY NOT USABLE
CONSTRUCTION SITE .. UNSAFE AROUND POOL AND WALKWAYS ..WOULD NOT ADVISE STAYING HERE
POOLSIDE DUG UP AND DIGGERS ON SITE STARTING AT 8AM
DIGGERS/DRILLING/CEMENT MIXERS/WHEELBARROWS/PETROL CANS LEFT IN HOT SUN BY WORKMEN AT POOLSIDE/ELECTRICAL WIRES TRAILED ACROSS FOYER/ SAFETY RED &WHITE TAPE AROUND WALKWAYS AREAS SO VERY UNSAFE … see photos attached
Were were NOT met by a representative or the owner as we were told we would be to hand over keys as they obviously knew we would complain and say it was not fit for purpose. We arrived and the room not was not ready for 2hrs We were given a set of keys by the maid and told to come back so went to a cafe to wait. No mention made of works going on in their advertising though they must have known and still took full payment plus I had to pay a 400 euros deposit for ‘breakages’ which I have still not received back, Was travelling with 90 year old mother and sister celebrating her 60th. We called and explained this was not acceptable or safe and that we would have to move and asked for a refund for the other 3 nights. Was told NO REFUND would be given they have an NON REFUNDABLE BOOKING policy after having to chase around trying to get responses from the contact numbers I had been given and had been dealing Eventually I was given MADFLATS head office Customer Services who said they could not/would not help as in Madrid. Spoke to booking.com as our booking through them and they attempted to intervene and MADFLATS still REFUSED TO REFUND us for the nights we did not stay. We stayed on first night then woken at 8am by diggers which was defeating even on 3rd floor. Could not use the balcony or pool so how could we stay as nowhere to sit in the sun. The blinds in the apartment were also ‘not working’ and were stuck in the lowered position so could not even see out of the windows.
Sitting in a room with blinds down unable to see out the windows or to use balcony (noise was defeaning) or poolside (dust flying everywhere and into the poolwater and nowhere to sit) is not acceptable holiday accommodation. We had to rebook and pay to stay elsewhere for remaining 3 nights.
THIS WAS MISREPRESENTATION THEY WERE UNABLE TO OFFER WHAT THEY HAD ADVERTISED AND HAVE REFUSED TO PAY MONEY BACK. BE AWARE IF THINKING TO BOOK THIS IS THIS COMPANIES POLICY.
DURING THIS CONSTRUCTION THIS ACCOMMODATION IS NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE AND THEY ARE NOT ABLE TO SAFELY PROVIDE WHAT THEY ARE ADVERTISING AND DONT SEEM TO CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS SATISFACTION OR CARE ANOUT THEIR SAFETY OR THAT THEY ARE ABLE TO SAFELY ENJOY THEIR STAY
I WOULD ADVISE YOU TO CONSIDER THIS IF THINKING TO BOOK BECAUSE SHOULD YOU HAVE ANY ISSUES DURING YOUR STAY NO MATTER HOW BAD OR UNACCEPTABLE THEIR POLICY IS NO REFUND NO MATTER WHAT
