PLEASE VISIT OUR WEBSITE TO CHECK AVAILABILITY AND TO FIND OUT MORE ABOUT LA CROIX JOREAU We do not take online bookings because we have had a holiday ruined where we booked to stay in the Dordogne, received the booking form which we completed immediately and were just about to send it back with a cheque when out of courtesy we rang to say it was just going in the post only to be told they had rented to another family. We would not like that to happen to others and often have waited a few days while people sort out their arrangements. The other thing is please ignore the response rate as it is based on mail sent from just one location. Should we reply by smartphone or from any other location it does not register that we have replied. Should we reply by smartphone or from any other location it does not register that we have replied. NOW FOR THE MORE INTERESTING STUFF Dating from 1850, La Croix Joreau is a group of converted farm buildings retaining many of their original features. The Pommier is a two bedroom ground floor apartment designed for wheelchair access with wider doorways, lower light switches and plugs, and a shower room designed with wheelchairs in mind. The Pommier opens onto the courtyard and the evenings at La Croix Joreau offer a special atmosphere with the barbecue, games of petanque and the drinking of wine! Should it happen to rain our spacious barn offers a suitable alternative There is a 10m x 5m swimming pool, children's play equipment as well as plenty of space for other games. Should you not wish to cook we offer a Table d'hote option (especially popular on the day of arrival) with smaller portions and prices for younger children, and a vegatarian option if required We are here to make your holiday as special as possible with advice about places to visit, restaurants to eat at or sharing a glass of wine with you. My husband and I and our 9 year old son decided on a different type of holiday this year. Usually paying over the odds for expensive all inclusive package holidays we fancied a change. It was without doubt the best holiday we have had. We...More

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at La Croix Joreau, it was a nice quiet village and a good location for exploring the Loire area. Helen and John were very hospitable and friendly, and they do a very nice meal as well. The gites are homely...More

The gites are around a courtyard where families/groups can sit and eat and play boule. The Larders are superb hosts, for whom nothing is too inconvenient. The pool is welcome in the heat and a lovely setting to relax. The bakers is a short 3...More

About the neighbourhood
La Croix Joreau is 45 minutes from Angers, Tours and Le Mans, and 20 minutes from Saumur. Within such a small area there are many things to see and do - Chateaux, Zoo's, Vineyards, Troglodytes, Museums - even driving down the Mulsanne straight at Le Mans. In the village there is a lovely bar run by Alain and Bernadette, which is next door to the Musee Jules Desbois who was a famous sculptor. There is also a small supermarket, Post Office and hairdresser's. Surrounded by apple orchards and forests, there are nearby lakes at Rille and Hommes which are ideal for swimming, fishing or picnicking and at Rille watching the bird population from the viewing points.
How to get there
Please refer to the travel page on our website where there are lots of links to flights and ferries. There are also directions from major places and if not from where you are coming from we can send you directions if you wish Also we can advise on car hire if you fly as we have been able to find significant discounts on car hire The website link is in the contact details
