Leonardo is one of five delightful holiday apartments inside the historic house of ‘Val Rive’. This two-bedroom, second-floor apartment is well equipped and furnished to a high standard in the Bréton style. The accommodation consists of an open plan lounge, dining and kitchen area, two bedrooms and shower room/WC. It affords a beautiful view of the Rance river, and there is also a large, shared, terrace garden complete with patio area to enjoy. Private, off-road parking is situated next to the property.

A hidden Gem in Brittany
Val rive is a little gem. It is close to Dinan by car (or walk) and it is much better than staying in Dinan itself. This is great place to relax and enjoy the scenery. We stayed in the upper floor apartment, hence for those who may have difficulties, one sould book the ground floor apartment. The owner has a few other apartments in this building and would really like to try out the cottage in future. There is a nice restaurant(Marmite) round the corner which we have a lovely meal . There are lots of other restaurants at port Dinan, which is only 30 minutes stroll from the apartment along the river or one can drive there. We truly enjoyed our time at Val rive and looking forward to visit this place again when we are in this area again.

A comfy and nicely decorated apartment. It was clean and well equipped. The beds were comfy and the shower was great.
The access to Dinan and surrounding area was excellent and the restaurant around the corner was the best meal we had. We have small children and the owner really engaged with them and as a consequence, the kids are all their healthy meal!
The only thing I would highlight to parents of small children is that the iron balcony in front of the main windows have wide gaps in them and we were nervous about our kids going near them unsupervised with the windows open.
The owner was great and the guide they provide to the area is extremely helpful.

About the neighbourhood
The riverside paths in front of Val Rive lead into the tranquil Breton countryside – perfect for walking, cycling or taking a picnic – and to the scenic river harbour of ‘Port de Dinan’ where you’ll find many restaurants and brasseries. From here you can walk up the pretty cobbled street of Rue Jerzual, to the centre of Dinan. The Rance flows into the sea between Dinard and St Malo, and these picturesque seaside towns are well worth visiting too.
For those wishing to swim there is a 25m public swimming pool (outdoor heated, with waterslide) less than 5 minutes walk away. Léhon also has a tennis club, with four indoor courts and one outdoor court. Other activities in the area include: golf, hiking, fishing and many watersports.
Getting around
There is much to explore in the surrounding region: rugged beaches, ruined castles, beautiful churches, and town squares with delightful cafes serving their local specialities – crepes, galettes (pancakes), butter cakes, shellfish, oysters from nearby Cancale, and Breton cider.
A hire car is the easiest way to get around, but bicycles are great fun too. You might choose to cycle to Dinard along the old towpaths of the Rance valley that help make up the ‘voies vertes’ (green ways) network. Alternatively, you could rent a boat, canoe or kayak for an hour or two on the Rance.

How to get there
Val Rive is located in Léhon village, on the outskirts of Dinan in Brittany. There are many nearby ferry links into Brittany and northern France from the UK and Ireland, the closest being St. Malo approximately 25 miles away.
At Dinard (less than 15 miles away) there is a small international airport that is served by both Ryanair and Aurigny airlines. A larger international airport at Rennes (approximately 37 miles/45 mins away) offers flight routes by Fly Be, Aer Lingus, Air France, and others.
