Booked a week at this cottage and would highly recommend. Spoke with the owner Hilary before hand who was very friendly and helpful offering lots of local info, and making you feel welcome from the offset. The cottage is in a very pretty small village...More

About the neighbourhood
Crickhowell is a beautiful little market town, very close to Llangynidr, accessed via a gorgeous 17th century arched stone bridge and is well worth pottering around, with its mix of interesting independent shops.

The cottage is also close to the towns of Abergavenny, Talybont and Brecon, which are all well worth a visit. But it's not really the towns that will stand out - it's the views. The Brecon Beacons loom large over the town, and there are walks throughout the area from the cottage door, whether its mountains, rivers or canal scenery that takes your fancy.

The area is well served for explorers and those who like to eat out with quaint pubs, gastropubs and restaurants in spectacular settings. Those definitely worth a trip if you're a bit of a foodie are Matt Tebutt&#39...
Getting around
Having a car is recommended, although Abergavenny is the nearest train station (connecting trains to Wales and England beyond) and a local bus (Stagecoach 43 Brecon-Abergavenny) stops on the main round around the corner from the cottage. There is another train station in Ebbw Vale for services to Cardiff.
