Ash Cottage is a superbly equipped and beautifully finished original stone cottage with roses around the door. A large inglenook fireplace with woodburner stove makes for cosy evenings. Flagstone floors and oak beams throughout add to the charm. The cottage is 4 star rated by Visit Wales and comfortably sleeps 4 in 2 bedrooms. Centrally situated in the National Park with views of the hills this is an ideal base for walking,cycling and exploring. Well behaved dogs are very welcome.

A variety of hill walks start outside the front door. Ash cottage is in the village of Llangynidr, which has two pubs, one 3 minutes walk from the house, serving food, a village shop with post office and a garage. The river Usk and the Monmouth Canal flow through the village. Parking is outside the cottage on the quiet road. Wifi provided.

A great Cottage, better than we expected, a great size for a two bed offering everyting you could possibly need on a vacation. The Village itself offered a local Pub and village shop, beautiful views and walks. The Cottage attractive as soon as you approach...More

Spent the weekend here and absolutely loved it here! A quaint little lounge with a great fire. Lovely ample kitchen and a perfect garden to keep the dogs happy....and safe! The heating was just right and the shower was lovely. Nothing bad to say about...More

Our prices includes linen, oil/electricity, a supply of fuel for the log burner, essentials such as loo paper and kitchen roll, dishwasher and washing machine tablets, handsoap, tea, coffee and sugar and a welcome pack to get your visit off to a refreshing start.

Llangynidr nestles on the River Usk and the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal with great walks from the doorstep.

The chic little Georgian town of Crickhowell is just 4 miles away with some great restaurants and stylish shops . The town celebrates local walking with it's annual walking festival.

Airport: Cardiff: 72.0 km
Railway: Abergavenny: 24.0 km
Local directions from Abergavenny: take the A40 to Crickhowell and on for a further 8 miles beyond Crickhowell and then turn left on the B4560 sign posted LLangynidr. Follow the road over the river on the narrow bridge and then through lower Llangynidr until you reach a T junction. Turn left onto the B4558 sign-posted Crickhowell and Gilwern. Drive for approximately 200 yards until you see the first crossroads with a sign for the Red Lion Pub on your right . Turn right into Duffryn Road and follow the road through the upper village for about half a mile until you see the cottage directly in front of you next to the cottage called Beaufort.
