About the neighbourhood
Fantastic for walking, great beaches and costal paths. Great for exploring the wild Atlantic way. Donegal Town has lots of great restaurants, lots of live music and lots of independent shops.ballydevitt Retreat is a great base for exploring Co Donegal and all it has to offer. There are lots of ideas of where to visit in our visitors information book.
Getting around
You really need transport as Donegal has limited public transport. There are no trains in Donegal just private and national buses that go to the major towns. You can hire cars from Belfast Airport or Dublin Airport. Please be aware and check with your Car hire regarding car insurance for crossing the border if you're hiring in Northern Ireland. Avis do not charge but some companies do!
